  1. I was outbid, so i'm at 15k now, its sitting at above 9k
  2. I suggest that everyone make a large bid on the item. I've kicked off with £8995
  3. It is in fact one of buckscoins, there is a picture stamp on the bottom left with his name on it
  4. Whats the Betting the seller does'nt even own this, it actually looks like one of buckscoins scans http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXTREMELY-RARE-CHARLES-I-TRIPLE-UNITE-1642-BRITISH-GOLD-HAMMERED-COIN-VF-GVF-/191085075590?roken=qEBTxX (null)
  5. I had a 1 Mark kicking about somewhere and lost it during a move , it was a really nice coin. Ahhhh well
  6. They are incused Bob. I've decided to send them to PCGS Paris, so going to do a membership with them where i can get 8 free gradings in 1 year, so we'll see how that goes. I must add that me getting these graded is purely for the American market, they are high grade and am looking to realise their FULL potential
  7. Another encounter with Downies (not mine): http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=162460 Looks like Downies being a little dishonest in their description as it had been through previously and described as fantasy/Prop. Piece for television. Very very naughty Downies, they're now on my List of places not to bid at

  9. Hello Turbo, opening a shop is'nt as easy as having 2 Kilos of coins, you really Need too know what the coins are and their value to even stand a Chance. Your best bet is to buy some books on the subject first of all, then have a read around here (especially on the grading subject) then go through your 2 Kilo bag. Just as an aside, having 2 kilkos of coins stored in a bag won't be doing them any good, they'll be knocking against each other levaing marks all over them thus reducing any value. Welcome to the Forum
  10. That must be some sort of Record for a decimal coin?
  11. Thanks Bob, never noticed that will get my buddy to check that one out and also its weight
  12. Thanks Peck. This is quite a good site for ballpark Morgan prices, what o don't understand though is the 5 or 6 variations oft he same coin, tail feather variations i understand but there seems to be a few the same variants http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/us-coin-prices.aspx?SubCatID=49&Designation=MS&PopSubCat=us-morgan-dollars
  13. Thanks for that Bob, i thought the Carsons were scarcer than that, anyway they are all nice coins. Here are the others, grades again would be good
  14. What are we looking at grade wise? I'll upload the others tomorrow
  15. Dribble tray is'nt provided with these pics
  16. I'll compare it to my 1879 CC, but it looks the real deal, weights the real deal
  17. It was sheer luck Bob. I'll post a couple of pics here later when i get home and get your opinion and which VAM? Number i have etc etc etc.
  18. Funnily enough i bought a few Morgans in auction last week, they were only described as "Morgan Dollars" no mention of mintmarks but they did say all were UNC. They arrived today and their grades were pretty spot on and i was fairly happy when i checked and found an 1878CC 1879S 1881S 1882 Oand the last one is just 1882
  19. Welcome to the forum Fletch. Many people ask the same question as you "what should i collect" Its down to the individual and personal choice. Take a look through the thread "coin aquisition of the week" there is over 200 Pages of purchased coins showcased there and maybe 1 or 2 pictures will tweak an interest. As regards to the decimal, well i just recently sold (on fleabay) a 1983 Piedfort proof £1 which is obviously the first £1 coin minted, i don't know if the proofs interest you but there's mamy of those out there. I think the earlier ones but not counting the 1983 are fairly cheap in proof.
  20. Think i'll buy me some bullion Morgans and experiment and see what colours i can come up with. First one will be called the toilet tone, it will probably be a chocolate Brown coloured type thing unless i have a vindaloo the night before
  21. I don't know how this could happen because their turnaround is 90 days and more than enough time to make sure the coin is Positionen correctly in the slab at least
