  1. Not a laugh, more for those who have slightly deeper pockets than me to purchase a rarity http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141290584896?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D141290584896%26_rdc%3D1
  2. Is that what they call a phonesex worker these days
  3. I like the BM plans to publish an online catalogue of all the 80,000 coins in their vaults. Edward VIII is a good monarch to start with, but I rather hope they follow it up not with Liz II but perhaps George V or Edward VII or Victoria. Still, I expect it will take some time to accomplish. I wonder if it will be free access or will we have to subscribe to see it? Perhaps a book would be better
  4. Well done you, you must be proud, but i do believe a Scottish coin did hold that record back in the 1970s, a 1576 £20 piece, bought by Spinks
  5. £460k including commission? Or hammer plus juice i have the realised price List from the Baldwins auction if you still want it Rob, i can Scan and send over the weekend
  6. I'm surprised that people still buy from this joke of a seller. His name is highlighted all over the Internet for his dodgy slabs and even dodgier grades
  7. I think you may Be right about the Gold hue pics Paul, they did'nt portray it correctly. The other i did like but that streak on the OBV let it down
  8. The other sold for £140, i was a tenner out
  9. Oh dear, looks like Westminster are back to the shitty tactics again. It can only mean one thing considering when they were out in front they were all for showing the polls, the table and tide is turning towards independence http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/05/14/publishthepoll-scottish-independence-poll-blocked-westminster_n_5321641.html?utm_hp_ref=tw
  10. Sorry, confusion reigns. I was talking about the1863 open 3 penny
  11. Can anyone explain to me this relatively new grade of EF for wear GVF for grade mullarkey 151297733446
  12. I think the complete set of maundy was meant as every Single set for Chas II through to your present Monarch however many sets that is at present is anyones guess
  13. There is no subject of maundy. They were talking pennies. So on the subject of 1927 threepences, of course there's a way too Tell the difference. A normal 3D was only made in proof for 1927 and it has the acorn reverse, a maundy 3D has a large 3 on the REV, but as i've just read PRE 1927 then thats a little more difficult and i'm not sure of that answer. Hold on, someone will arrive soon
  14. I just recently read that a friend of mine must have had stuff listed but as it did'nt sell she did'nt bother checking eBay for a couple of weeks. It turns out that ebay had relisted the items for her without her knowledge. She only found out when she got a bill for the fees
  15. Either do i, you'd expect to pay around £120 ish for a top grade, but £156 for that rubbish is plain Crazy plus his EF grade is a little wide of the mark. The acorns are flat, but you know what they say, fools and their money are soon parted and there's plenty of fools on ebay.I often wonder if its just the ebay sellers with large feedbacks that these idiots run to as we see with sellers like saxbys, people never seem to question grades or what the coin actually is when its a powerseller
  16. A hunk or not Bob, its still better than the Disc in the next lot which has a larger estimate. Still Makes no sense too me
  17. George V coinage is always notoriously difficult due to the poor dies. Getting a very early strike is always the way too go
  18. I also noted a couple of lots in this sale which don't make any sense, lot 1915 an open 3 1863 penny graded as Fine, estimate £100-£150 the next lot 1916, same coin but graded as VG, estimates £175-£225 how does that work? Then we have lots 1405 and 1406 both 1902 Crowns both exact same grades and descriptions yet 2 different estimates
  19. Please play the Video, this is quite some speech, its not political, rather than General of what's happening in todays Society http://michaelgreenwell.wordpress.com/2014/05/09/play-this-everywhere/
  20. This Popped up on my Facebook feed from a frind of mine. It might interest some of you http://www.ukcouponing.co.uk/free-family-friends-railcard-valid-until-31st-july-2014/ (null)
  21. So from my above post regarding fleabay, i Shall Quote their return policy. Most Buy It Now purchases are protected by the Distance Selling Regulations, which allow you to cancel the purchase within seven working days after the day you receive the item. Find out more about your rights as a buyer and exceptions . I had a buyer who bought an item and then started a dispute 35 days later, YES 35 days. It was shipped to a UK address but during the dispute i noticed he/she had been using American spelling and found out the coin was shipped to the USA, so ebay in their infinate wisdom decided against me, even after the buyer had, had the coin for 35 days. Absolute fecking joke
  22. Funnily enough if you win something on the German eBay it technically becomes your propery the minute the auction has ended. Apparently Germany has outstripped the USA for suing people. I also refuse to bow to morons for a fiver profit, eBay is just full of morons and keybord idiots who want you to beg and plead so they won't give you a negative, a bit like a dog begging for a treat, unfortumately i don't beg or play those games and make sure they know it
  23. Depends on what you want. The coin has wear on the bust and digs on the chin and still discoloured, i'd say EF, but some people are fussy when its their coins and not so fussy when its someone elses, you decide if its for you. I reckon about £150 region
  24. That makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately very few links are working on that page - Ancients, Records & Videos, appear to be the only two left. Maybe the whole thing will be updated when he has himself organised, he says he's just bought a bündle of pennies, so he has to sell them somehow/somewhere
