    I've personally owned about 10-12 different specimens over the years. Passed on as I upgraded or just sold if not an improvement... I only recall 2 without the recut A, all the others had the recut A indentifier...

    I had listed some lots of Halfpennies and pennies, identified by Freeman numbers and ebays' bots kicked it out as using numerical grading..... I had to change it from F number to Freeman number to get it to list....

    There are times that it looks like an obverse 6 too.... You have the coin in hand so I'll defer to your assessment. Images can be deceptive even with no deception intended....

    Technically, by ebay policy, this listing should not be allowed, inasmuch as it is being listed with a numeric grade not assigned by an officially recognized grading service. Number two, without having the references handy, I believe a Poor-1 needs to be identifiable to some minimal degree. This coin does not fit that description .... That being said, I can appreciate the humor of the listing, as I have similarly had "world's worst coins" listed in the distant past....

    That's always the final determinant Richard, and I erred in reading it as "inverted V instead of A".. That being said, I distinctly see a crossbar so, my amended observation is, it is not an inverted V for A, although there is a possibility that it could be an inverted V over A, reinforcing the A. A close examination with coin in hand would be the determining factor.

    So would I. However, inasmuch as I only collect circulation strikes and do not actively pursue proofs nor patterns, I'm not losing any sleep over it.

    That would make sense....... Equality for ALL buyers, in a open free marketplace. High bid takes it, everyone pays the SAME premium. As for selling, you can negotiate the sellers premium as it would only affect the seller and the auction house, essentially a private transaction.

    Any business will try to make the most profit that they can. Where will it stop though. It reminds me of the proverbial camel. It sticks his head in the tent to see you and before you know it he has got the whole tent, and you are on the outside looking at him....

    I would say P of PENNY to a tooth.... As stated by many, lighting, angle, etc all conspire to confuse....... it's happened many times to me..... sometimes I'll vacillate for days, counting denticles, checking leaves, other key points, etc. And still I might not be overly confident in my final assessment . To be perfectly candid, sometimes you can never be sure without the coin in hand. ..

    I thought there had been a relationship. If you were on ebay, you could submit coins to ngc without joining any membership plan.... I know that I have submitted to ngc as an ebay member..... been awhile, but I vaguely remember being issued a number. .....

    Crazy seems somewhat inadequate; but your point is well taken. Idiotic, asinine, lunacy, senseless, brainless, irrational, illogical, absurd, ludicrous, ridiculous, etc, might be better. However the English language is insufficiently populated with words that might be considered adequate to describe that gobbledygook translation of the description.
