Hopefully. You might want to pick it up before Peter pilfers it from the delivery office to replace one of his lost'uns. I've got enough Spinks (and Seabys) that I don't need a ladder to clean the upstairs windows.
10 years ago I set out on £1 & 10 shilling notes. I got a long way there with replacement notes being the rare ones. It started out with my good friend who gave me an un opened wage pack from 1940 which contained 2 10 shilling notes and 2 £1 notes. The history behind this fascinated me. As it happens the book price was about £180.00+ My friend is a fine art auctioneer so what goes round comes round...I've put a bit of business his way. Another friend is into George 11 furniture...his purse strings are more flexible than mine although a few years back his wife asked for a selection of George 11 coins which still are framed in the down stairs WC of their 16C house.
Dave's buddy from Dundee is back. Somehow a F coin worth £20 is beyond belief. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370814683740?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Looks normal to me but all hammered are different. Being a type collector it fits the bill nicely and every thing under £100 doesn't send Mrs Peter into a hissy fit.
Just received this and looks much better in hand. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RICHARD-11-HALFPENNY-1377-1399-LONDON-MINT-SPINK-1700-/151030011315?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=wX3l4tqFgp9g25lda9ldWQVTd4g%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Tell us about your new move Peck.Must be for the better. I shall be moving Mrs Peter into the East Wing and my 2 PITA girls out ASAP to Uni so we can downsize to North Norfolk. I am ready to take my foot off the loud peddle...I'm not going to realise that millionaire dream...but hey a bit of sand on the duvet.
If you want good portrait Lizzies sell your house now.(I have a few nice ones under wraps) Being at the right place at the right time helps. It is not a subject you would race into unless you had 5 bullets in each of your Colts and several years study. I know Tom (Richard) goes for Ch1 1/- and Stewart (Coinery) love Liz 1. I'm 10 years behind both. We all have our Nr 1 subjects
The early crowns are 92.5% silver. The George v and vi are 50% silver and might make £20 each.Have a look on Ebay. It is a funny old market and you may get more for the 2 early crowns.
I hope the move is for the better I'm type 2 diabetic but the only noticeable effect is if I eat Chinese food with a load of booze I feel awful so now I alternate.
For England and St George.I will defend my country as my ancestors did.As Winston said we will fight them on the beaches.I will be in Felixstowe in a beach tent near the pier with a candy floss and the hottest chips I have ever had.Great memories.
I've got my Dads stamp albums from the 40's including lots of Vickies he the started proper collecting in the 50's when he was in the Navy. All apparently worth little.I was born in the 60's and both Grandpa's and my Dad set me off on coins/fossils/amber and nick knacks. In my consevatory I have a glass topped table full of nice bits from fossils to flint bits.If I want to wind down that is where I retreat to.I also like trench art.I have many brass shell cases from The Great war.I have bought fossils and coins for my elder sister....better than perfume and now she wants a gold touch piece. When I was about 10 she bought me a 1914 1/- in GEF for Xmas...beat that for a present.
I often do searches on 1562 sixpences (3d Size) or guinea's (brass of course) enlighten the sellers who sometimes give abuse. I do take delight in telling buyers what they have been ripped off for....and their thanks.
