    I would like to see a new grading system for hammered. It would be along the following lines. ID'd but rough OK OK+ Nice Nice+ Very nice Very nice + Acceptable to Richard Acceptable to Rob Ashmore quality. Why I say this is because I've bought "as struck" hoard coins which have gone straight back. A point system as used in banknote grading might be workable.(lose points for pin holes,creases/folds,bankers ink marks ETC)

    All this music waffle has turned me to visit Amazon and buy 7 CD's and 1 DVD. I got a couple of Caravan CD's,early Bowie BBC sessions and the DVD of his appearances on BBC. I also got some early Clash The Peter family will be rocking this weekend.

    The London fairs are the only regular fairs I haven't been to. Basically I like the Birmingham and Wakefield fairs because they are on a Sunday. If you Q about 9:45am you will be amongst the 1st 50 in. I would like some feedback from the Coinex ETC. In the main are they not the same dealers on the circuit?

    The only thing with York is it is over 2 days. It would bug me if I didn't go on the Friday.

    There are a lot of MDF rubbish cabinets on Ebay. A new seller was producing oak cabinets.I emailed him.He was oblivious and said his brother was making the cabinets and he was just selling them.

    We have discussed this before but a proof is struck from a specially prepared die. The early strikes on the circulation coins in theory should be superior and possible to reach 99 to 100. If 82 represents a choice unc coin. Where are the 18 points lost?

    Eddie Get yourself along to a fair.There are slabbed coins on sale but few and far between & apart from London Coins they rarely appear in auctions. Save your slabbing money. At the end of the day it is up to the individual.

    The coins are all fairly low value. Slabbing cost would be questionable and outweigh the perceived benefit of ....."cough cough...extra value" All the rejected coins would sell raw on Ebay. If the rest of your slabbed coins didn't achieve what you hoped.It amounts to a sum that could have bought something nice.

    Hi Eddie I would like to see images of the 6 rejected coins for the forum to chew over. TPG is not my thing. There would have to be a very good reason for someone to tell me how to suck eggs.

    I keep my eyes peeled for white fiver's and the Jerry dropped version's. The replacement notes are nice to find.

    Nice coin all the same My S1836 was one of the earlier hammered purchases by myself.(common) I liked the fact that Calais was part of England at the time. It's a pity we didn't extend the Chunnel to go to the Med via The Loire

    I remember these from aunts & uncles I also put a collection of 10 shilling notes and £1 notes together 8 or 9 years ago.

    Once correctly attributed would it sell for in excess of what you paid? You know where I'm coming from.

    Today there are many coins I would love. I shall just watch a few and grin as the estimates are blown sky high.At least DNW are consistent with low estimates.

    I'm a child of the 60's. I think Mrs Peter realised it was going to be a car or bike. By spring it will be 100% perfect. (We have plenty of space for cars in the garage) I need to source a hardtop. My mother can't wait for a spin and is digging out her head scarf and designer sun glasses. Boys need toys.(I've also got my eye on a table soccer game. )

    This morning we dropped Mrs Peter's car off at the local garage for a lick of paint then I spotted at the back of the garage a 03 plate MGTF 20,000 miles and 98% perfect. A test drive,kicking of tyres,a haggle and ker....ching it's mine. My reasoning as I explained to Mrs Peter is that it is always too easy to put things off until tomorrow. I will have a nice winter toy to play with. Brruuum Brruuum. Yes I am aware of head gasket,cam belt problems.

    i agree with Peck. You have considerable value in approx £70+ face of GV silver (could be some 92.5% silver !911-19) The rest will at least be 50% silver. Ebay is a good place to shift these. The fact that coppers are in a bucket...

    TPG's are like a comfort blanket to the less confident collector. The collectors are getting ripped off at the same time.
