  1. If you could let me know of anyone who hasn't been duped on ebay..I think it would be a very short list. Lets face facts we are all greedy and want a bargain.Dodging a bullet is good though.
  2. No wire wool but the bees wax is the only treatment the cabinets get.
  3. As fragments go it ticks boxes.
  4. Wooooooosh ZZZZZZZZ
  5. Welcome Quady. Friendly forum here and we are here to help each other.
  6. I have personally seen it at Fine art auctions when the auctioneer misses an in room bid.Hammer down and that is it.That is (or should be) how it works. An inept auctioneer (and his team including IT) if they are not up to the game they can do one.I won't be bidding on anything on the net or giving my "on the book" prices.Ebay is now fecked so coin/antique fairs it will have to be.
  7. It happened today on an old series of put your money where your mouth is.FFS when the hammer goes down...that is final. If the auctioneer is a wine soaked idiot get rid.
  8. Yep I now have a proper Nichols (thanks Rob) ,a Smokerings cabinet and one from Declans mate (Forestgold). All 3 cabinets are portable and superb.Easily stashed and a pleasure for 351 days of the year. My Daawg is the chief of security .Coin cabinets have been around before US history and certainly not suited to bloody US die crack/doubled letters/artificial toned coins which our buddies across the pond lap up.Show me pre 19C in coins in MS69/70 and my view may change.
  9. Still got £ notes around here and the only fake £ coins were imported by me when I worked in Canning Town
  10. The reverse is something special....right up my street.
  11. I like the 2nd HC.The 1st leaves me cold..I just wouldn't want it. Take away the slabbers and both could be bought raw for a lesser amount.(and have enough left over for a short break in France).
  12. thirded ...nice articles in Coin news.
  13. So much more than coins.Yep I need one to hold and study. My £2 ew on Arthur in the National won't buy me one....but Nando's for my girls tomorrow(today) will.
  14. Ribs, chow mien and spring rolls. Not bad at all.
  15. It is a bit battered and therefore value would be less than F.
  16. Still looking for a Golden Horse Cart.Would be an upgrade on my Silver one.
  17. WC you have to kiss a few frogs. No harm in that unless you detest garlic. I love the outdoorsy thing and have a Springer although he was partial to one of the clergies chickens. He did bring it to me.We now have a different walking route.
  18. WC your coin is worth its silver content not a penny more.Learning point Nr 1.At least you have a coin worth £2.50.
  19. WC don't buy crap unless you are really flush.
  20. How many do you want Pete? the coin is worth its weight in metal...DIDDLY
  21. I have a pile of shite...waiting for the the rabbits to take interest and dabble before the scousers. Look at yourself Pete....COINS MAN.
  22. There are better examples about. Bee patient and don't get stung. I could go on about honey coins but I would get a swarm of complaints.
  23. I've been a couple of times as my sister lived in Harrogate. It was OK but not a scratch on the Midland. Worth doing if you are local.
  24. I take it you had this done yesterday.
