Go to Colin Goodes site (aboutfarthings) you may well enjoy it..
The amount of work some people put into the hobby FOC is amazing.I will certainly buy his book.It will never be perfect just look at Peck and Freemans books.Get a deal done with Chris?
PS welcome Vegas
Just be aware a few coins I've bought from the US the import charges have been 20% .i argued over a James 1 1/-.Got nowhere but wrote it off (£12) as I have had many delivered FOC of import costs..Win some/lose some at the moment $ v £ is a non starter.I will wait until we are $2 to the £.
All hail to central heating.I don't even have a chimney at Chez Pierre . I bought a lot of BU bronze from Cubishly back in the 70's from the adverts in CM.They are holding up well. I actually love quality light chocolate brown coins with no carbon spots.
These are common but pleasing coins. LCA one is a BIG avoid.15 years ago these were available at £100.Damn the internet.
1758,1787 shillings were cheap as chips. I even paid £15 to CC for a 1745 lima shilling vf (common) but doing over £100+ now.
Excellent video Dave cheers bud.
We must remember that graders ARE NOT experts on ALL coins. The diversification on this forum brings the knowledge bank together.IMO I wouldn't use their services as they appear to be a "jack of all trades" and masters of nothing.
Michael call me old fashioned but a book twats all references online.
Scott keep looking. You will not be disappointed.
My daughters bought me a packet of the finest loose leaf Kenya tea at Xmas.Their words were drink this in the spring whilst getting the 1st rays of summer and reading your smellie ancient coin books.I will not disappoint them.
Paul you will enjoy how the book has has been written.Great reading ie Mr Smiths cabinet ETC.My edition is 1893 which still has the corner guards.Monty produced a fine written book which I'm sure inspired Peck.
I really can't be bothered with these idiot sellers. My other peeve is the sellers of early copper that think they have something special by listing various slight differences. If they bought Peck they might have a bit more nous. I reckon if I lined up my 20 or so 1720 1/4ds each one will likely be slightly different...However you can never have enough decent Cu above Fine.
