    I'm not the smartest bear or even a collector of post 1971 tat . But I picked one up back in the day for £3...BU and with potential.The design is unique. I haven't looked at it for years...I like it that much.

    Should anyone newish to the forum a copy of England's striking history is thoroughly recommended. Available from Chris (Predecimal), Amazon,good book shops and Coin Fairs. Sorts classes out nicely.

    Considering 6,467,199.248 were minted my Red book gives a value of 30 cents in BU/MS65 and the Red book tends to be retail plus a bit.

    Your post in beginners area has been answered in full.I cannot see what more info you could require. The value is purely the silver content or maybe just over melt if you can find a punter.

    Maybe if dealers lists slightly raised their pricing and offered their coins with "make me an offer" you can drag a few more buyers in.I personally don't feel happy offering a bid on dealers lists for coins under say £25.Face to face at coin fairs I have no problem especially if I'm buying a few and have lovely crisp notes in my palm.

    One of my early purchases as a young lad was a 1841 1/2d which I paid 50p. My Saturday morning job as a butchers boy paid £2.It was a big decision as watching Ipswich at home was 25p bus,25p to get in and 6p was a programme.Both hold great memories but I still have my 1/2d. Nice coin Paulus.Was/is it one of the large batch of 41's sold recently on the bay?

    Great idea on the wet room.I helped my Mother with hers and with the addition of a waterproof radio and a plastic garden chair in the shower you can't keep her out of it.
