The ending is kind of appropriate, but the original had an ending which was the result of not knowing how to end it, which is why they came up with that totally psychedelic final episode.

Did you ever see the remake, which aired on ITV about ?15 years ago? It got panned, but mostly by fans of the original. Actually it wasn't half bad, and Ruth Wilson gave it her usual edgy glamour. Never even got repeated which is a shame.

Recommendations Wanted
Peckris 2 replied to DaveG38's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
There is one other possibility which you may or may not have already considered: Your contents insurer will have a valuables component which usually has a 100% replacement value attached to it. Coin collections may (or not) be included, but the valuables cover they provide will be inadequate for your needs. However, they may be open to extending the maximum covered considerably at a higher premium cost which you would have to agree with them. Whether or not 'contents' insurance covers valuables which are stored in a bank, is an additional question and I'm not competent to answer it! -
Just one more thing: You might want to handle coins only by the edges. With the older and toned coins you're doing, it matters less, but with uncirculated coins it's the best way to put fingerprints on the coin; and do it enough times and you will begin to see slight wear as well.

Nice idea! What might help though, is to understand who you're aiming these at? If new collectors who already know the basics of terminology etc, then it's a potential winner. There are so many iconic coins you could cover: - the 1933 penny story - the Gothic portrait of Victoria - William and Mary > William III - trade tokens pre-1797 - the Great Recoinage of silver in 1816, and how the sizes of silver coins remained constant until decimalisation - Maundy Money - the Edward VII florin - proof sets before decimalisation - the 1951 Festival of Britain crown - the Churchill crown and so on. However, you might also want to do a video for complete beginners, defining such terms as 'obverse' 'reverse' 'legend' 'proof' etc, and emphasizing the importance of condition, rarity, and popularity (the holy trinity of factors affecting coin values). Good luck and I hope to see many more.

I think it also goes to show that - at very high magnifications - no two strikes from the same die are absolutely identical (almost, often, but never quite..) -

If you get as close as you can - even with a phone - the resulting jpeg is usually big enough that you can crop down to the desired size. -

Perhaps you could just shoot a close up of the dates on each coin, then upload them side by side? -

Are you able to post a bigger picture? I'm not seeing any differences that are not accountable by wear. -
Stuff to Make Us Laugh

Well, the EU did have complete control over our laws. Oh, apart from ... Pensions and the entire welfare state The NHS and public health generally Transport, including airlines, railways, and road systems Housing, town planning, construction Taxation, including income tax, corporation tax, excise duties Police, criminal justice, and public order The army, navy, and airforce Local authorities and everything they do such as roads, refuse, the fire service, parks and recreation Alternative energy sources, nuclear reactors, power stations and the national grid But those pesky Brussels bureaucrats insisted on meddling in things such as food standards, drinking water quality, health and safety at work, the cleanliness of our beaches, workers rights, etc. I mean, who the hell did they think they were? -

We wouldn't have done better, for sure. I guess it's one of those "we'll never know" questions. One thing's certain however - being in the EU wouldn't have prevented the criminal discharges to care homes (and then death) in the first lockdown. The EU had far less influence over our internal affairs than the average voter realised and Johnson would still have gone ahead with that totally wretched policy. Correction: if we'd still been in the EU, Cameron would still have been PM and I doubt his lot would have done the same shocking thing. -

I agree. But it had very little to do with being in or out of the EU - contrary to opinion in some quarters, there was a great deal of freedom in negotiating with individual companies, it's just that most EU members thought (possibly mistakenly in this one particular issue) that they'd do better going with the overall EU negotiations. Also, we developed the AstraZeneca vaccine early due to our brilliant scientists at Oxford, and that would have happened whether or not we were EU members. -

Moderna This company generated nearly $6bn of sales from its Covid-19 vaccine in the first half of the year, achieving a $4bn net profit – the first half-year profit since the firm was founded in Massachusetts in 2010. Moderna has signed $20bn worth of vaccine contracts this year, including that for 17m doses to the UK, 460m to the EU and 500m to the US. It expects to produce up to 1bn jabs this year, followed by 2bn-3bn in 2022. Pfizer/BioNTech Sales worth $11.3bn (£8bn) were made by Pfizer in the first half of this year from the Covid-19 jab that it developed with Germany’s BioNTech. In July it lifted its 2021 sales forecast to $33.5bn. BioNTech expects to make revenues of nearly €16bn (£13.5bn) from the vaccine this year, as its first-half net profit jumped to almost €4bn from €142m a year earlier. The two firms have agreed to supply up to 1.8bn doses to the EU from December up to 2023, on top of 600m doses previously ordered this year. The US government has ordered 700m up to April next year for Americans, as well as 500m for donations to the poorest nations. Pfizer and BioNTech are aiming to produce 3bn jabs this year and 4bn next year. They are now charging the EU €19.50 per jab, up from €15.50 in the first procurement deal, the Financial Times reported. The UK is also reportedly paying more than previously, about £22 a shot for 35m doses for next year’s autumn booster campaign. -

Ok. Name me one benefit Brexit has delivered? -
There could be slight wear due to sliding in a cabinet tray and by handling - in which case just give it a slightly lower grade! e.g. AUNC.
