    I would dip it in Goddards for no more than 10 seconds, rinse and dab dry. That might improve it to some extent but I wouldn't then be tempted to dip again.

    I think that worked because you don't post much here? We've found that newer members tend to be able to post pictures but older members often can't.

    I'm surprised - I find that 1887, 1889-1892 are by far the most common buns even in high grade.

    test No, that isn't the case for me. I have ALWAYS used 'choose file' and never drag and drop, but haven't been able to attach a picture for months. I still think it's a case of how many attachments you've ever uploaded which is why newer members can attach while long time members can't.

    It's just copy and paste, nothing more complicated than that.

    I'm not sure where you're getting the overstamped idea from? The reverse looks normal apart from what looks like Vic's mouth chin and neck appearing just to the left of the shield, probably caused the same way 'ghosting' occurs on many 1st issue George V coins, especially pennies halfpennies shillings and sixpences.

    I think the silver content and weight will check out as good? From what I can gather, this particular coin is rather like the Maria Theresa thaler which is still minted - not for any fraudulent reason, but because it's both a very desirable coin in its own right, but also because it's still used in some places!

    The bottom one could be a fairly modern repro? Apparently there are many of this particular denomination.

    I wonder at the terms "extremely" "very" and "excessively" used for rarity. Were these simply hype words (like "BU Gem" used by so many dealers) or are they based on known facts? It's interesting that the 1960 silver crown ("very rare") was offered at a significantly cheaper price than the other two, one being the long known 'sandblasted' 1953 crown.

    They are pretty scarce - much of the low mintage was probably never issued.
