    Even London Coins have a fairly decent picture of a die number 3. Looks nothing like the one on ebay, unsurprisingly.

    I need a George iii sovereign, maybe prices will not be too crazy. Apart from that, some nice 1862 halfpennies with die letters worth a bid.

    Oh definitely a lovely coin. Any rarity at the right price is worth shelling out for.

    Personally, i like the obverse as it is. Very nice find.

    I did see this coin on their website, before it got sold. The obverse appeared less than fine to me, otherwise if it was fine for the obverse, then it would be not a bad price. Then again, how often do you get a chance to own one of these?

    Oh it is a 2mm, definitely.

    That is bad. You would think that somebody would have noticed when the coins started to tone, and done something about it.

    Certainly an interesting coin. Probably worth the 143 Euros if you need one.

    An up-to-date website for Victoria copper pennies sounds good to me. Peck's book is very good, just a little out of date now, but as you say, today's websites have just about all the info that people would like to see, but a book would be very handy. So a very good idea i think.

    Interestingly, the 1992 Euro 50p has a mintage of 109,000. I think that they are all proofs? (Somebody confirm please) And they are making a tidy sum too, but i will be holding on to my set.

    There is also a 1974 and 1975 proof sets as one item on ebay. £37.40 including postage at the minute. I do have the 1975 already, but not 1974.

    Well, i can see a 2002 Jamaica 50$ on ebay, but that is the only 2002 proof that i can see. Very elusive those sets.

    There is a set of 1976 Jamaica proof coins 1 cent to 1 dollar on ebay right now. I am no good with links, but easy to find.

    That is a good question. All i can say is that Spink shows the ornamental trident prices to be slightly higher than the plain trident prices. So i guess that it is there opinion or findings.

    I sg I just don't like the look of this coin, not quite right and looks too clean imo.

    I think that he was blind at the end too, so he never got to see his new coinage.

    No worries, i still enjoyed reading that other discussion, and it looks a bit like the tail of a 9 (or small 9) on the Cp1858G imo, but more like part of a 1 or 7 to the right. Makes no sense, unless it is a double overstrike.

    It certainly does. I have an 1863 penny, and from one angle it looks like an open 3, but not from other angles.

    Interesting, thanks Alfnail. But the bottom right inside corner of the second 8 does seem to have a straight line at an angle of about 30 degrees from vertical. Tbh, it is the p1496 from a certain website that we like.😁
