I found online two different 1920 pennies which suffer some major loss of detail in Britannia's face, breast, forward knee, they appear to be crumbling apart. The spear hand is very clear and defined, but just outside of the effigy. Both these pennies are mint state, and otherwise show nice detail.

This is a clear picture of a LARGE 3 i had recently.

I've never heard of anyone differentiating between types of 1865/3 - have you ever found a seller who does?

Hello Rach. Basically yes, it's been machine hollowed. Originally it may well have had another bust (from another coin, reduced in size to fit) of the king inserted into the hollow to create a doubled-headed trick coin, often called a magicians coin.

Good luck with the poinciana seeds if you want some more let me know.. They we certainly growing fast on the vacant lot next door to me. Similar here, i think around £40-50 maybe a fair price for KCIII definitive annual set at this moment.

What people can ask for and what you are prepared to pay are two entirely separate issues. You can control the later and not the former. I personally don't worry about things like that.

That's a ridiculous price for what is regarded as the easiest halfcrown to find in top grades of the 1920-26 series.

Ah, apologies, my pre-conceptions. I saw the profile portrait, which looked a lot like the Edward the Confessor design, but I now see there are William I coins with a similar portrait.

The article mentions "Norman" and "dates to just after the Battle of Hastings" so I'd have thought more likely William I. The few I can read seem to bear the legend +PILLEM, which would indicate that to be the case.

That's not a bad price to be honest. All the Charles III sets seem to be expensive. I'm not sure there's much better available in the UK to be honest. I picked up one for £46 last month, that's the cheapest I could find.

Seen on Ebay. It's graded at MS 64 by NGC which is a reasonable assessment but GBP 492. I would have paid less than $AU 50 say GBP 25 for the one I have which is a pretty good grade. I've seen the prices from this seller and Heritage auctions and wonder if anyone buys these coins. Tony Clayton gives a 9/ 2025 value of in UNC of GBP 65.

Although they are nice enough examples as they are, I don't think they would set the world alight in any of the specialist coin auctions. They would probably want to list them as one or two job lots to be picked up by the dealers. Your best chance of making the most is probably Ebay. Prices to be determined by researching previous sales there. At least you have the D&H numbers, so any private collectors will pick up on the ones they want.
