Some major appeal on the reverses there especially!

Not sure if I have posted this one before on here, grading opinions? (Halfcrown)

I would take Pauls offer up on that one Jon as his pictures are quality and good of him to help pass on any tips.

Also when you have got it right you can do mine :P

That's kind Paul, thank you, but will it help when I'm only working with this?

Having said that I took this with it so it must have the capability in the hands of a competent user. :)

Just ensure you have a couple of direct daylight lamps pointing at the coin, preferably from overhead, set the white balance to auto on most semi decent cameras, use a dark background for Silver and the pictures tend to come out ok. I need to change my background to one less reflective but generally I am happy with my pictures. The only thing I plan to change is to try the light at different angles on my toned coins and have 2 sets of photos for them to demonstrate how the toning can sing. This is beautifully toned however it looks a little flat here but when the like hits it, wow is stunning.1834-hc.jpg

Nice coin Non.

They seem a bit underappreciated, the threepence's.

Might have something to do with the ugly "pre-schooler learning to write" 3 on a lot of them as well as the size.

One of my favorites is a 1911 I received in a bulk lot.  Little beauty it is.

cheers Garrett.

there were really nice bits in DNW today.

There were quite a few, alright. Loads of groats too!

Please provide photo help:   1868 RRITANNIAR   3d, perhaps the nicest I've seen (well I bought it).

This is PCGS # 536335

Is that number correct VS? PCGS are asking for a 7 or 8 digit code.

Would love to see a picture Garrett. I am slowly building up a nice collection of threepence's.

Wow, thanks. I was lucky to get this from Spink in the "grande olde dayes". Vick's hair looks to be re-engraved almost as post mint damage & horrifically clashed.

The reverse is something special....right up my street.

I am trying to switch to type collecting but whenever something comes up with toning like that I find it hard to resist :)
