Rob Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Just sold this one. I'm surprised it didn't go earlier considering the attractive toning. Quote

mrbadexample Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Having said that I took this with it so it must have the capability in the hands of a competent user. Quote
Nonmortuus Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Just ensure you have a couple of direct daylight lamps pointing at the coin, preferably from overhead, set the white balance to auto on most semi decent cameras, use a dark background for Silver and the pictures tend to come out ok. I need to change my background to one less reflective but generally I am happy with my pictures. The only thing I plan to change is to try the light at different angles on my toned coins and have 2 sets of photos for them to demonstrate how the toning can sing. This is beautifully toned however it looks a little flat here but when the like hits it, wow is stunning. 1 Quote
Coinery Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Lovely 'little' brace you got there, MBE! Getting the hang of that camera, Paul...you're getting off some really nice shots! 1 Quote
Nonmortuus Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Slightly out of focus but a newbie from Colin Cooke. It isn't unc but has eye appeal and ticks the type box for now 4 Quote
Garrett Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Nice coin Non. They seem a bit underappreciated, the threepence's. Might have something to do with the ugly "pre-schooler learning to write" 3 on a lot of them as well as the size. One of my favorites is a 1911 I received in a bulk lot. Little beauty it is. cheers Garrett. 1 Quote
VickySilver Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Hey, I love those Vicky (surprise!) 3ds!!! there were really nice bits in DNW today. Quote
Leo Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Quote there were really nice bits in DNW today. There were quite a few, alright. Loads of groats too! Quote
mrbadexample Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Again, I can't reproduce the blue toning and reflective fields. 1 Quote
VickySilver Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Please provide photo help: 1868 RRITANNIAR 3d, perhaps the nicest I've seen (well I bought it). This is PCGS # 536335 Quote

VickySilver Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Wow, thanks. I was lucky to get this from Spink in the "grande olde dayes". Vick's hair looks to be re-engraved almost as post mint damage & horrifically clashed. Quote
Peter Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 The reverse is something special....right up my street. Quote
