Rust spots on the knee make this a KH4 rather than a KH2. Given this came out of Baldwin's basement, which Peck had access to when compiling his tome, I suspect he must have missed a few.

Is this a newbie Rob or one that's been stored in your basement for a while?

My first attempt at showing my coins and as we are only talking toning and not quality here's a couple of half crowns!

They are good honest coins that have seen plenty of action over their lifetime.  You could enjoy speculating about whose hands they passed through, and what items they were exchanged for.

Thanks Stuntman,

now that I have the bones of a collection (British pre decimal to 1816) I'm going to start and concentrate on the quality a bit more.

Nice pictures, you've managed to capture them well.

You'll definitely enjoy the investment of higher quality coins, well done on getting a base collection too it will be fun upgrading as you go along.

I picked it up in 2006. It's a real shame about the two small horizontal marks on the leg because those aside there isn't any wear to be seen. It is in the 'Too nice to sell' section of the collection. :)

Are the striations in the field from die polishing?
