Red Riley Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I have this theory that no music is ever as good as whatever was in vogue when you were 17. Me? Pink Floyd of course. Quote

1949threepence Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 The trouble is that even if you post the music you like, chances are others won't be as into it as you. Most likely they won't even bother to play it.Sorry to be a damp squib Quote
Peckris Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Just out of interest Hello17, why are you listening to old fart boring straight rock music? I may be an old fart myself these days but I'd far rather listen to Dizzee Rascal or other assorted hip hop artists than to a genre that hasn't had anything worthwhile to say since The Smiths. Quote
argentumandcoins Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Nickleback has a tenuous link to an American coin and secondly if you can't appreciate lots of bits in that video you've gotta be dead from the waist down Quote

As for me, I'm afraid your choices are a bit .. mild to my taste. Nickelback and Green Day are what I'd maybe listen to when driving the car. I'm more of a metal man mesself, but I won't spoil your day with my favourite Lamb of God. Here's a bit of Gibraltarian metal you might like instead plus a spot of the more melodic side of Rammstein. RLC35 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Here is an old time Blues version of "My Bonnie" by Ray Charles. This was early in his career. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" &hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" &hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Quote

If I've heard that damn song once I've heard it 1967 penny mintage times But... after your comment, I went and watched it .... with the sound turned right down. NICE Quote
DaveG38 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 If we are going to put anything up on here, this is my missus singing Fever. Very good that! Nice voice!Thank you for that. She will be pleased. She likes to sing when she can and has had a few sessions in the studio recording some of here favourites. My personal one of hers is 'Nights in White Satin' or perhaps 'The House of the Rising Sun.' Badger Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I love music, most genres. Some of my favourites are Guns N Roses not the reconstructed band, the original '86 to '94 line up, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Iron Maiden (early stuff), Pearl Jam, Jacko, Tracy Chapman. I also like Dr Dre, Ugly Kid Joe etc etc, even some country! the list goes on and on really. One of my favourite songs is 'Cats in the Cradle' originally done by Harry chapin, covered by many including Cat Stevens, Johnny Cash, Ugly kid Joe This is a close second, Estranged by Guns and roses, over 9 mins, excellent song and excellent guitar solos, I'd probably say Slash was my favourite guitarist, Clapton would be up there too. If any one does listen to Estranged and likes it, the song is the 3rd in a trilogy of songs, part 1 is Don't Cry, part 2 is November Rain, they are all excellent. Quote
Badger Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 My favourite Scottish band would have to be Idlewild. Here is one of their songs 'American English'.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joB0tlOjKcU Quote
