Shocking behaviour...check out both images!

That IS a shocker. Mind you, the winning bidder at £330 deserves all they got if they didn't examine both pictures.

I used to feel sorry for them but not any more. So many of them are in the TSFE (Too Stupid For Ebay) box.

Then if you click on 'see other items':

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Full-Gold-Sovereign-1900-Queen-Victoria-Royal-Mail-1stClass-Special-Delivery/184720694915?hash=item2b02361e83:g:hGYAAOSwRNJgVznf

But, if you check out the feedback, buyers are happy enough so who are we, what's the use, etc. etc.

I can't get my head round people spending £300+ based on picture of just one side.

It's not too much over melt and the reverse shows it to be an 1899P which invariably sells at a premium. Even if the obverse is a mess you can only lose 10 or 20 quid at the most. I don't think the vendor had much idea of what he was selling, o/w he would have put up a wrong image of an 1899 P.

It is weird isn't it - and that's far from the only instance.

There was a coin at a Spink auction a few weeks ago that only showed one side of a coin. I think that it was an 1826 proof penny, so not a cheap coin. Just seemed a bit strange to me.

Yes, I saw it.

Be foolish to buy such a coin, as you never know what horrors lurk unseen on the other side.

I assume they would have supplied a photo if asked?

London Coins was prompt to email photos when I asked them. Likewise, I have got additional photos from Lockdales before.

Well, they should have put the photo on their website in the first place tbh.       But yes, they would have supplied if asked I guess.

Obviously they should have, and I wouldn't be very happy if I am the seller.

However, extremely frustrating to watch it pass nonchalantly across the screen, leaving one helpless to do anything much about it! A bit like being on planet watch, only to watch helplessly as we screw that up too 🙁
