There might be an image on Hus' forum as the last time it came up for sale it made quite a stir and a thread was started about it. The sale was in Tokyo in 2008 or 09 and it made £336K if I recall.

post-8432-0-73462800-1415121922_thumb.jpRecently I have discovered something equally as amazing: look at this 1853 proof set, with Gothic crown and gold. I can't decide what I like most about it - the coins or the box!

Goodness how beautiful !

Is there a half-farthing included in the set ?

Yes that's the picture on my website, I will have a look tomorrow though that picture is about 10 years old, still I might have the reverse pic somewhere!!

Yes I have just checked it was 24500 10 years ago. Unfortunately I don't have the picture of the reverse, sorry :-(

For me it would have to be late hammered, sharp details, original tone, really nicely preserved EF Tudor or Stuart AND a great rarity eg

Silver:

Liz I Crown Mintmark 2

Liz I 8 testerns portcullis money

Carlisle or Scarborough besieged

Exeter Halfcrown spirited horse

Rawlins Crown from Oxford

Gold :

James I spur-ryal with the lion

Liz I milled half pound

H8 Sovereign

I've just acquired this for someone. There are 3 others in private hands somewhere, so if anyone is hiding one, please PM me. I want one. Actually, I need one for the initial mark.
