SWANNY Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Was this the highest grade given to a coin by CGS ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-MAUNDY-SILVER-PROOF-FOUR-PENCE-SLABBED-CGS-99-/181800778247?hash=item2a542bba07:g:PCIAAOxywh1TAiK4 Quote
Nordle11 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Don't know because we can't check the league tables anymore. Quote
azda Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Do we care? CGS is no more, so their league table is obsolete along with their company Quote
Nordle11 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Lol. But regardless of whether I care, we still don't know and can't check to answer the question. I remember checking through some of the highest graded coins one and there were loads all graded at whatever the highest one I could find was. I can't remember what the grade was, but there was no single coin with the highest grade as far as I could see. Quote
PWA 1967 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Just incase anyone is interested and the question was asked There are coins graded at 100. Quote

Rob Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 The question is, what was wrong with it? Maybe nothing, but dropping a point gave a bit of wiggle room for the future? Quote

Sword Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) Most people would admire a 100+ years old circulating coin graded MS68 (or CGS equivalent) as an object of high rarity. I certainly can't see any interest for a modern proof coin wrapped in plastic moments after birth and later graded as MS70 or CGS123... Edited September 3, 2016 by Sword 3 Quote
