Received yesterday a nice magnifier.

Big lens LED light and 10x magnification.

Its hand held big and easier to use than a loupe.

They are on amazon as......

Reading magnifier .

10 x 75 MM LED with two batteries .

One of the sellers is 1 dealeben (i dont have a clue who he is ) just used him as an example who is selling them.

About £10.99 but really good and large ,perfect for home use.

I am not selling them but worth a look at.

No its not for taking pictures or using with a computer.

Just a nice large hand held one with An LED light with a couple of batteries.

Nothing fantastic but much better than a loupe IMO easier to view with the large lens.

The one linked to a computer that i have found best value for the money is the andonstar one for about £40/£50

I now a couple of people can recommend others but they are closer to £1k

Thats more for close ups a microscope and will allow you to take and edit pictures of overdates etc.

But not any use for a full coin.

I bought the andonstar on Pete's recommendation and can say it really is great value for money. Nice and compact and does exactly what you need. Haven't needed to look for another since!

I struggled to find a digital microscope for windows 8 never mind 10, the one I eventually got is so magnified you cant even picture a full date on a coin let alone a full coin. Not what I was after at all. :(

Microsoft really shot itself in the foot with its upgrades, starting with Vista! I am using windows 7...it is not bad, but I have heard 10 is a nightmare!

Privacy is the biggest problem with Windows 10, and changing the settings is extremely difficult even for people who understand the workings of the OS. They record every keystroke you make and send all this information back to themselves (supposedly to build up a profile to help make 'suggestions'). Their updates are also causing major problems with wiping applications, because they're deemed malicious, like Adobe of acrobat. For now it seems it's another must avoid, and just stick with Windows 7 which has always been the best since it came out..

I've been working up to buying a digital microscope and also working up to upgrading my desktop from 8.1 to 10 and now you've all scared me off both !!!!!

I would, for now, definitely wait for the battle between Microsoft and the current users to play out until they fix some of the major problems Windows 10 has. A new update is due soon and people are poised to find what new wave of issues come with it. Maybe they'll fix some of the big problems and it'll be ok but only time will tell.

To be fair to you, you're using Windows 8 which is also a pile of rubbish :P the tiled screen was completely unnecessary, hence the abandonment in 10!

I've posted this before but In can highly recommend it.

I think Chris was going to look in to the supplier but that was months ago! I modified the support to provide an adjustable height for various sized coins. Built in picture taking and easy to use.I tried to include a picture but ran into the size restriction. I can send one if you wish.
