Paulus Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 For those interested in both CGS AND belonging to coin collecting groups on Facebook, @Bill Pugsleyhas created this group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1672076246400856/?fref=ts Quote
SWANNY Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Think I will pass on this one after the conversations I have had with Bill (and tried with CGS) Quote
azda Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Bill is actually a really fair minded guy, very articulate with his responses. He came onto The Forum about 18 months ago and took every shot everyone on here gave him and replied to mostly everything we wrote which ended up with 15 Pages. hopefully he took some of the concerns back to CGS, but i have only admiration for sticking to his principles and explaining his Point of view in The manner he did in The Face of so much shit by so many on here. 2 Quote
jelida Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Bill came and sat with me while I was having a solo coffee at my first ever LCA last winter. He introduced himself and we had a really nice chat about coins in general, and we did touch on CGS, and he encouraged me to use their on-line database as a varietal reference. It has been useful on occasion. He struck me as a thoroughly pleasant man, and though I dont use TPG's I would have no issues on principle with those who do, it is a matter of personal choice, and ties in with issues of coin storage/protection, presentation, certification and confidence (in the coin and its grade). Also affordability, my choice is to buy more coins! Jerry Quote
PWA 1967 Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Yes i have corresponded with Bill and bought some of his duplicates/swapped some. Always helpful as i am quite keen on the cgs product Quote

Peter Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Get a CGS mirror Pete and have a good look Luckily my impressions of members are of Davros apart from Rob who is a big bugger who will give you a slap. Quote
jon Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 It appears that Bill has closed the group and all previous posts have been removed. Shame really as there was a lot of information on there about the cgs saga. Quote
PWA 1967 Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 (edited) Wonder why he has closed the group as it was private anyway ?. Edited August 7, 2016 by PWA 1967 Quote

PWA 1967 Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Thats a shame as would of thought the majority of people on it had a similar interest. Quote

It's a shame if by 'this matter' he means CGS graded coins. P.B. is/was certainly King of the Hill when it comes to CGS coins, it's a reflection of just how shabby the whole CGS thing has been if indeed they've alienated their No.1 customer. Quote
PWA 1967 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I would be interested to no why this has now gone........Truth would be nice Quote

PWA 1967 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Nick you may be right. I could set up Barclays bank facebook group but that would not seem right Quote

Apart from being like me and others who have sent coins. Bill was the chairman of the CGS forum meetings. These meetings were held on the same dates as the London Coins Auctions (in the same hotel but in a different room as the auction). Bill also had an official CGS e-mail address. However, he mentioned that he did not held any shares in CGS and was otherwise just a customer wishing to promote CGS. Quote
PWA 1967 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I didnt know that so thank you for pointing out So do you mean official address or just had an interest ?. Quote

I believe it was a company address belonging to CGS. Can't remember the exact form but it was something like xxx@coingradingservice.co.xx Quote
