Bill is actually a really fair minded guy, very articulate with his responses. He came onto The Forum about 18 months ago and took every shot everyone on here gave him and replied to mostly everything we wrote which ended up with 15 Pages.

hopefully he took some of the concerns back to CGS, but i have only admiration for sticking to his principles and explaining his Point of view in The manner he did in The Face of so much shit by so many on here.

Bill came and sat with me while I was having a solo coffee at my first ever LCA last winter.  He introduced himself and we had a really nice chat about coins in general, and we did touch on CGS,  and he encouraged me to use their on-line database as a varietal reference. It has been useful on occasion. He struck me as a thoroughly pleasant man, and though I dont use TPG's I would have no issues on principle with those who do, it is a matter of personal choice, and ties in with issues of coin storage/protection, presentation, certification and  confidence (in the coin and its grade). Also affordability, my choice is to buy more coins!

It appears that Bill has closed the group and all previous posts have been removed.

Shame really as there was a lot of information on there about the cgs saga.

Wonder why he has closed the group as it was private anyway  ?.

Hopefully someone will know why Bill took the decision close it

I think Bill has had a belly full of CGS and is maybe trying to distance himself

On the Facebook page he simply states, 'As I no longer have an interest in this matter I have decided to suspend the group...'.  It's a shame if by 'this matter' he means CGS graded coins.  P.B. is/was certainly King of the Hill when it comes to CGS coins, it's a reflection of just how shabby the whole CGS thing has been if indeed they've alienated their No.1 customer.

Excuse me for being dense, but Bill set up the CGS Collectors Facebook Group.  Or are you really asking why CGS itself is no longer?

Bill was the chairman of the CGS forum meetings. These meetings were held on the same dates as the London Coins Auctions (in the same hotel but in a different room as the auction).

Bill also had an official CGS e-mail address. However, he mentioned  that he did not held any shares in CGS and was otherwise just a customer wishing to promote CGS.

I didnt know that so thank you for pointing out :)

So do you mean official address or just had an interest ?.

I believe it was a company address belonging to CGS. Can't remember the exact form but it was something like xxx@coingradingservice.co.xx
