  1. I have came across a couple of blue crown boxes too ,but never in hand ,always through pictures .My only concern with them is that the light blue colour may be from green boxes that have faded in sunlight (there seems to be a few different shades of green out there).pics never show the inside of the box ,where the original colour would be intact . also found this one where the colour has faded away to white https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FESTIVAL-OF-BRITAIN-PROOF-CROWN-COIN-1951-WITH-ORIGINAL-BOX-AND-COA-ANOTHER/382279211150?hash=item59019dd88e:g:90MAAOSweW5VdJTS
  2. heres a blue proof set box http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1951-Festival-of-Britain-Boxed-Official-ex-Proof-Farthing-to-Crown-10-Coin-Set/292344018858?hash=item44110fb7aa:g:PZMAAOSwCkZZQQvz
  3. I have both types of both colours .slide out seems to be the most common type of both colours , but the 2 blue ones I have seen were both lids.
  4. I have seen 2 blue ones ,but have never managed to get my hands on one .nearly bought one a good few years ago ,but held off because the box was a bit of a state (regret it now ,cos it was only a couple of quid) .the green and burgundy boxes have 2 types ,one has a lid type box and also a slide on cover type. There is also 2 different coa's .I am sure I have seen a proof set in a blue box too (might have imagined it though )
  5. Not mine .looks like its been dipped in jewellery cleaner
  6. many thanks . how about this one think its a henry vi calais mint .not great pics

  8. cant seem to find any henry vi canterbury mint halfgroats or groats , but it looks like a henry vi crown .
  9. not my coin ,it's from a fb page I am on .I can't seem to work out what it is .
  10. streaky lustre but still attractive ,no wear and only a few marks
  11. latest upgrade .ebay can come good sometimes .
  12. its mostly notes ,but I do have some coins ,Kapselgeld (encased stamps) ,silk, linen and jute ones .
  13. Does anyone else have an interest in German notgeld notes and coins .I am going to be selling off my collection (about 4000 pieces )
  14. I have reported it as a fraudulent listing
  15. at 20 grams its a fake .chinese knock-off.
  16. my dream coin .doesn't need to be that one though .
  17. If real ,then it is a good buy .I bidded up to £70 (didnt think for a minute I would have a chance ) , but without being 100% on the 1850 ,I was only bidding on the other 3. It was the die crack on the reverse that concerned me .For such a scarce coin ,I would have expected to find other examples with the same flaw .I did think it would go for about the £1000 mark though.
  18. On first inspection it does look ok (I'm no expert though). It me be that he is bidding it up till he gets a high enough price ,and hasn't reached it yet .
  19. It has the same trefoil / heart stamp that was on (I think) the fake 1562 lizzy halfgroats and Henry VIII halfgroats ?
  20. Am I missing something . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/George-Silver-Proof-Crown-1951-Beautiful-Unc-/232480269216?hash=item3620e763a0:g:QNoAAOSwoRBZsSeo our friend lukasz again ,with his dodgy descriptions.
  21. I already offered £65 for it LOL .Don,t know how much it is approximately worth ,but I saw one that was described as near Fine sell at auction for £1100 (think it was LCA ).And this one is much better than that one .I do wish it was mine .
  22. pity its not mine .the owner bought it a couple of years ago as a beaded border for £30 ,which would still be a great price .
