i've just noticed that yours is paired with a different Obverse as it has a Narrow Date , my example has a wide date. -

Its funny a short while back I remember Mike showing us his new found f164 and saying just how hard it is to find one above EF , and I must admit I was thinking at the time that my own example was only about VF, then low a behold this turns up . A few bag marks , but for £23 .

This is the Royal Mint's Example Richard RMM 52 , below is the blank side and the Rubber Pattern RMM 74. Also I noticed that your example 8 on the Rare coins is the Example held by the Royal Collection Trust . Terry -

I don't know if its of any interest, but i came across this pattern 1894 penny the other day , and wondered just how iv'e managed to miss it in all my years of collecting , it is after all listed in Freemans on page 233 Plate xiv Pic. R over A , really, not for me and I think most people will shy away from it as well . We'll all have to wait and see if another clearer example turns up. As to the PFNNY this die fill type often turns up on Victorian pennies . Below is a 1890 .
