  1. In the interest of trying to keep some coins showing on the forum , I'll try to post this 1962 penny with missing waves and horizon left of lighthouse . listed by David Groom , [ but not pictured ]
  2. I don't know if it would make any difference but I post my pictures in jpeg ?
  3. Having a go at posting pictures again lets hope It appears on your screen. This one hasn't got a hole in it , Its almost a train tunnel , but I just had to give it a home as Its an 1861 Freeman 24 4+f on Richards rare list.
  4. Yes almost certainly Die clash . It can leave some very strange marks.
  5. Yes Paddy we have pictures .
  6. Great We can post Pictures again 😃
  7. Funny thing I just now posted this with the two pictures and it refused them , so I cut both the pics and then posted the words only and low and behold the pictures appeared on my screen . Can all of you see the pictures as well ?????? Terry
  8. I up graded my original coin with this rather nice Dot 1909 I found recently 😊
  9. I can't post a picture either, Getting the 403 error page . Is there any update on what is causing the problem .
  10. Well Richard Its down to you, you will have to take a course in Syborg though.
  11. It looks more like a spot of corrosion to me than a proper dot ?
  12. Have you seen the E over R VICTOEIA 1856 farthing . This one is mine , not perfect but 😊
  13. Sorry but I don't think that's the small 0 date type . Top ones the small 0 F160 middle normal F160 bottom F161
  14. Maybe that's why they changed from the F174 with It's uneven pressing between the two sides to the F177. They were trying to eliminate the ghosting at this time , and its possibly premature ware affecting the reverse side on early types caused by the week low rim that brought about the change. ?
  15. I thought I'd share a couple of rather nice rare finds . Both the rare 1913 mules. F175 below
  16. I'm not Richard but I agree . I think its an F78
  17. One possible explanation could be that the letters in question have been re punched to hard , which would result in a deeper indentation into the die resulting in a bigger wider and longer letter . I have seen this on the date digits on some of the Victorian pennies. Im sure I have a picture some where , I'll see if I can find it . Note the 9 in the two date examples below
  18. yes , I agree your middle example looks just like my 1860 Gouby Vc coin pictured below, but with the 1861 reverse .
  19. This one was up for auction at a starting price at £2.80 with no offers. Then it disappeared only to turn up as sold for £47. Its a Satin 28a. I only know of three, Bernie's one on Richards site, this one, and one other [No pic.] 1861 Freeman 4+D Centrally cut ribbon with misaligned colon after F:D: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205436457401?_skw=1861+penny&itmmeta=01JSA06W8S3BFBQPH51PKENESB&hash=item2fd4f791b9:g:IdcAAeSwbtRoA5S2&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA4FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1d%2BQkGYEEyLO3zLsTXIJEyWIa6xLVpE35IrDPBn9qmxFJkZt0i3drt54CP8OXL5UPAyG9trH%2BjDR7UMWMpvhzXH7myS8d%2Fd4JBE1laG5KNccTvpGKw7T3DMCEV3fO2Z6ITP0C3rgaINuxjo1RJL3idV2kEdE6qQm5oTP8%2B54xIdtP6%2FNX7G4Fll3veMNqzHmOvE7pQB5hccRPNsdluyKgyyudwU1IYz%2FJ0ybeGiPjwjhGC%2FihHVRDDaM0DEYNiUFa8tAWHkXoIIu%2BkvuOEnUgrA|tkp%3ABk9SR8zEm8DKZQ
  20. 1874 Penny Freeman 67 6+H Interesting coin this one . It seems to me that the F67 is much harder to find than the R12 rating given by Freeman , especially so in high grade . I could only find five examples ever sold on London Coins , and this seems to be the same with the F68 6+H Heaton rated R13 . This example interestingly also has an over stamped 7 in the date which I have not managed to find on any other example with this die combination. ??
