  1. Buzzcocks? Nowt wrong with them. First 'proper' 1976 band out of Manchester. I saw them play Eric's Club in Liverpool.
  2. Punk/Post Punk-Glam Pete. Liverpool.
  3. And your point is what? People get older and should be called to account for doing so? I'm sure you're an absolute vision of loveliness still. I was 'on the scene', so to speak, back then, so got to meet and work alongside a lot of interesting people.
  4. Debby Harry Pete? Here you go. Read 'em an' weep…..

  6. Desert Island Discs? Eight tracks, surely?
  7. We lived in Cambridge in the early 1990s. I went to a few coin fairs at the Corn Exchange. Bootleg CD fairs too, I think.
  8. I always thought them more as Surfing music on speed. I stood no more than a few feet from the amps at an Eric's show in May 1977. Small club. Low ceiling. Peter's quite correct. LOUD!

  10. Thanks Rob. And any idea who Lord Waltham was when he was at home?
  11. Here's mine.
  12. It being one of the hardest to find of the series I thought fellow fans of early milled copper may be interested in seeing this. I rarely buy coins these days, and almost never from Ebay, but I'd noticed it listed at the weekend and, knowing how seldomly these are offered for sale, decided to have a pop. The coin came with the original owners ticket. Does anyone here know anything about Lord Waltham or the 1941 sale mentioned? You'll see too The Farthing Specialist (John Minshull?) had graded it in the 1970s as 'very good fine'. This seems a little generous these days, however, as my winning bid was only £31.01 (far below my maximum), I'm very happy with it. Apologies for the crappy photos. I don't have the iPad at the moment so have had to use my phone.
  13. Note also the matching shapes of the I and A of Victoria on Georgie's coin and the copies currently being sold on ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1850-Victoria-Shilling-copy/152911792039?hash=item239a40c7a7:g:HSwAAOSwNOJasVZN
  14. Now now Pete, we don't want to frighten the horses, and it is Sunday, after all…
  15. Sorry everyone, couldn't resist...
  16. Your list. No mate, no. Do yourself a favour, delete it.
  17. I wonder if Izzy Brunel was on the short list? Boudicca would've been perfect. J Arthur Rank. Surely rhyming slang?…...
  18. Nice one Chris. Let's not forget C for crap, and T for tat...
  19. Agree 100%. Having peered into the murk I'd grade VF, or VF+ if being generous.
  20. Just spent half an hour on ebay for the first time this year. Reading the descriptions for these I'm guessing the seller is an estate agent during the hours of daylight.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1930-GEORGE-V-HALF-PENNY-COIN-FULL-OF-CHARACTER-LOT-115/302597536242?hash=item467437f9f2:g:GFEAAOSw0UBZ7kSX https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1922-George-V-Penny-Coin-beautiful-coin-Lot-113/302597536225?hash=item467437f9e1:g:u0oAAOSwKQ9Z7kBE https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-YEAR-OLD-1917-PENNY-COIN-ARMY-STYLE-COLOR-COIN/302597536244?hash=item467437f9f4:g:i9EAAOSwBkRZ7kYX
