  1. Yes its definitely the same coin ,i bought it after the Auction.
  2. A couple of new ones for a date run i have been putting together since selling my others. 1893 and 1904 ,both hard years to find so nice.
  3. Yes , as i was trying to explain shows that paying daft prices for the highest graded can all change tomorrow when one gets graded higher 😀 There was another penny today i sold a couple of years ago and that also only went to less than half of what i sold it for,due to others now being higher.
  4. Unfortunately the price difference in just a grade or two on most pennies determined by NGC are huge ,for the few collectors currently buying them. The 1839 PF66 for sale in "The Coinery auction " sold for £10,000 the last time it sold and at the time it was the highest grade. Now one is graded 67 (Maybe bought by the seller of this one) the one graded 66 has almost certainly lost its highest grade attraction. Unfortunately its not what we think the grade is but what NGC put on the label and if its high or the highest , there are a few collectors who will pay big money for them. Only my opinion but i have been watching the prices of NGC pennies for the last few years and ones graded really high or the highest can sell for daft money. Fortunately its only a few buyers though who will pay these high prices and what it does mean is the ones graded high but not really high 😀 ,we can buy for sensible money.
  5. What it does show is how its often hard to determin a coin variety / type from a picture ,sellers pictures which were lightened show the detail much better. The E in Penny is complete even though it appears not to be on my picture.
  6. One i recently purchased ,not the best grade or condition 😀 F16 5+D ONF and looking at Richards Rare penny site i wasnt aware there was so few known.
  7. A new one and not a bad grade for type. F39A 1862 8 over 6.
  8. Not the nicest looking Halfpenny but a hard one to find to find ,as been discussed on here before. 1956 F474 4 + C.
  9. A new one bought this week not attributed and believe only four known. Gouby recorded as BP1870Am.
  10. One i bought a few months ago ,however have hit a brick wall trying to attribute as dont know if its been struck with a foreign coin or a token. The penny has been struck twice and due to the year may of been struck by Heaton ,which makes it harder to determin what the other coin or token is. An advertising token has been suggested due to Co. being on the penny a few times but i really dont have a clue.
  11. Thought i would share this 1854 DOT , E of DEI ,as not seen another and really clear in hand.
  12. Yes they are not common inverted though and thats why i assume they did them this way. I believe if i had put this in auction the auctioneer would of listed it as genuine and would of sold for a premium 😀
  13. 1826 penny inverted FAKE. Thought i would share this just incase anyone sees one for sale and before they perhaps pay to much for one ,believing it to be genuine. I could not tell looking at one ,no signs of anything to the outside edge or inner rim ,right weight ,size , looks genuine. BUT i had two and found pictures of another ,they are all the same with the same bag marks etc and could easily be passed off as genuine if you are not able to compare with another. Similar to the 1905 Half crowns that were done in the seventies and look real but all the same.
  14. https://live.spink.com/lots/view/4-9RFQ1T/great-britain-george-v-1910-1936-variety-group-of-1913-pennies-f174-obverse-1-reverse-a- I am not sure which one the Rare F176 is 😃
  15. A young visitor in our garden yesterday , dont see many in Manchester especially during the day.
  16. Yes i agree ,i would not buy that as an 1854/3 looking at the picture. All it does is waste everyones time describing them wrong as the majority just get returned. The vendor not paid or the auctioneer left with a coin they then have to try and sell someone else.
  17. A nice 1797 Penny 10 Leaves NGC MS64 ,better lustre than i was able to capture in the picture ,without the normal contact marks.
  18. I think its more likely the Large rose he overpaid for when he bought it , it has been for sale over two years. The same seller has recently added one on his website in fine grade for £100 and the more expensive one maybe he bought attributed and just gave it a go. Some copper pennies sellers have found not attributed and not paid much for them ,its therefore much easier to sell them cheaply. Dealers who buy quite a lot may just take a chance and pay a high price for something considered rare / scarce hoping to sell it and just make a bit ,it doesnt always work.
  19. A couple just back from NGC both really nice in hand , sellers pictures who i bought them off. 1891 MS65 RED 1894 MS65 RB.
  20. Yes i use gloves to photograph mine.
  21. NGC get plenty wrong ,some more so than others. The coin label has now been changed and the coin not mine ,imagine getting this back 😂
  22. 1844 Plain tails DFF ,like most copper penny varieties not many about in EF or better. Not the best picture in the plastic 😀
  23. 1854/3 with the note from when Michael Freeman sold the coin on eBay ,i have folded the note over as has the original buyers name and address on.
  24. One just back from NGC MS65 and Scarcer year in high grade 1878.
  25. Yes , as you will know it was listed as a F118 and a F116 which is much scarcer.Although it was expensive , I have never seen a better one.
