  1. I dont understand what your on about Dave ,whats that got to do with Numistacker ? Guy Fie is The coinery and if he chooses to have his wife as a director thats his business and does not need putting on a public forum.
  2. Prax or his mate Gary put the picture on from memory ,although dont think it was theres and just a picture. Be nice to know its genuine and not an edited picture and that it really does exist.
  3. 1858 Large rose SMALL date.
  4. A couple of recent rare ones. 1856 SINGLE COLON after REG.
  5. Yes i spent 10 minutes deciding if i should buy it myself and it was only that it was in Australia and was going off a picture i decided not to 😀
  6. Having had a message i maybe didnt explain mine and others thoughts very well ,what i meant is the coin may of been slabbed but broken out as details and not that it was for sale slabbed in the auction. Obviously a maybe and have no evidence to back that up and just a thought ,however the coin did not IMO look in the best condition and unsual not just in this auction (were most of the others were slabbed ) but when a seller knows what they have in America to not put the coin in a slab to confirm its condition ,not just grade.
  7. If it had been slabbed as ok then it would of definately gone higher or atleast more interested bidders before the auction went live ,not just attracting more interest in the US but here also. A couple of people i know were both concerned about the condition of the coin looking at the picture and took that into consideration before the auction went live ,maybe the coin had been slabbed. Hopefully the coin went to a collector who hasnt got one though ,like jerry with the F90 (Hat off) rather than the same people / person possibly bidding the price up or buying others.
  8. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313980809514 This coin has been backwards and forwards too and from America enough hopefully. It originally sold in the Workman sale ,then was in Baldwin St.James Paul Hayward sale (unsold £200-300 estimate) ,now back to the uk.
  9. A really nice MS64 RED 1913 F176 from Spink on Wednesday ,not attributed. Interesting that the coin has sold now at least twice by two major auction houses and owned by different vendors ,however nobody has looked to see what type it is.
  10. Its probably more likely to be changes behind the scenes and shares (ownership) that have made changes for the start of a new tax year. Not uncommon for businesses to change directors , name etc. in March / april.
  11. Yes ,its an obverse that has been used before but a lot scarcer and harder to find on the 1970 proof half penny. I bought 20 of the 10p as although the dealer had a bag he opened it to sell them individually. When he told me he still had them all and i bought mine i messaged a few people who bought the others.
  12. You ask about other decimals that are hard to find Eric and this 1970 halfpenny proof is although a variety ,which was mentioned the other week. D to gap i to tooth. The lowest mintage Great britain 50p (not struck in error) is the blue peter 2009 with less than 20,000 minted but they are at upto £250 /300 now. Most of the low mintage and collectable decimals are the territory coins of mainly Gibraltar and the isle of man.The rarest or hardest currency to find being the 1989 isle of man blimp £2 and the last one i saw sell was for £2000.
  13. No ,they are ones wrongly attributed and just obverse 2 i think...................Unless you can find one 😀
  14. Proofs there are loads of them and can buy them today off eBay,currency really hard to find.I looked almost daily for months (nothing better to do ) and was lucky to find a currency sealed bag.I knew Michael had found them hard to find also ,so let him have a few and like me you must of just been lucky to find two 😀 Any decimal coin that does not turn up on eBay for months as richtips above mentions must be scarce.
  15. I have some BU ,send me a message if you want to buy one and not carry on looking. Pete.
  16. https://www.londoncoins.co.uk/?page=Pastresults&auc=150&searchlot=414&searchtype=2 This is another one ,although this is listed as 2 + B.
  17. Yes i have seen a picture of another one the same as above , that was also attributed as 1953 VIP Proof 1+B.
  18. Having looked at the picture of this one numerous times a few days ago i have now found to the best of my knowledge that the Reverse die is unrecorded ,other than being used for the VIP set. I was told months ago that the coins for the 1953 VIP set and not just the penny were struck from different dies and this clear picture of a farthing is one. Its not REV A or B. F to GAP I to TOOTH ,possibly longer teeth also though not 100% sure on that one.
  19. Yes i had aleady seen it ,its the LCA one. Posted your other picture at the same time 😀
  20. Just arrived yesterday and not the best picture 😀 1853 Small date P.T. and scarce.
  21. Yes i agree that it could just be a broken 8 on some possibly overstruck but not hard enough at a slightly different angle.
  22. IMO and having looked at plenty its been corrected / repaired / overstruck more than once on some ,so there are different types having the bit within the bottom loop of the nine. I havent got any pictures but the one coutesy of Michael goubys site appears different than Robs above ,it does not look to have the straight line to the right of the loops. So what appears to look like something on one coin may not on another and thats why i think nobody has been able to give a definative attribution.
  23. One of the best british boxers of the nineties ,defence and chin.
  24. https://thetyrantcollection.com/ Unbelievable ,there is that many in Dan O Dowds collection it takes a while for some of the pages to load ,includes the Edward V111 set. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/03/12/billionaire-tyrant-unveils-collection-coins-minted-every-english/
