  1. This arrived yesterday too, with a whopping split through the whole planchet. Would this be a die crack, split planchet, split die, lamination error? I can't find any information about when the crack is on both sides of the coin..
  2. Love the bull head toning, that's crazy! Do you get more of a tone in hand or does the camera really bring the blue out?
  3. The chunk going through the ONE does really looks like a strike through, it's the reverse that's confusing me..
  4. Always good when that happens. After a while you start to get an idea of what coins actually look like based on the type of picture that's there, when I started out I thought all scanned coins were no-gos because I though they were pictures and that they look rubbish! Leaps and bounds eh? haha
  5. Just need some second opinons. It looks OK, but I don't know how it could have come about and it's also strange to have similar things on both sides (which indicates to me that it's been in a vice maybe) Anyway, here are some pics, any help is appreciated as always.
  6. Gotcha, I can see what you mean about the blurred edges too. I have to admit, while the microscope I've got is good for detail, it's not the best for taking 'eye-appealing' pictures with it's bright white light attached.
  7. Cheers Terry. It's Matt
  8. A nice coin Cliff, thanks. Is that blue toning just part of the photo or can you see it in hand too?
  9. Are we talking about the 'Museum copy' pennies that the one seller keeps listing? They're really bad haha
  10. Hahaha, that's some quality placement. What rev. die is that Terry?
  11. Really love that double struck coin Rob, and that error on your coin is great Terry!
  12. Here's my collection of errors so far (part 1)
  13. That's a nice example, Cliff. Can we see the whole reverse too?
  14. It says 1723 in the title though?
  15. Damn that's like 10 minutes from my house Very lucky find it seems, lots of extenuating circumstances that led him to it.
  16. $60 for that coin, even if there turns out to be no differences, is still a bargain. Nice buy, keep us updated!
  17. They're targeting the people who wait for them to come out I guess, they know how many people buy them when they come out so they've just hiked the price to see what they can get away with.
  18. You'll need a bigger picture of the reverse. To help too, do you know the weight and the size?
  19. Mwuahahaha Thanks for the double count R, I was sure I'd missed one but I really didn't have it in me to count another time. So Jac, what's up with it? Is it the tail of the 9?
  20. Well it's strange but it looks like something is going on. For example, some of the letters don't quite line up as other 1mm 1895 pennies do (some pics attached) Also, if you feel up to it, I count 163 teeth on that penny and there is 162 teeth on a normal 1895 (but it seems so close that I've probably mis-counted by 1 and I'll be f***** if I'm counting again ) P.S - I used your penny Rash, sorry
  21. Give it a whirl, there are other programs out there that are free but they wont be half as good.
