  1. Scott don't tell me you have a collection of 1851 D over D farthings, please , to my mind this is the rarest victorian variety bar the 1860 copper or any proofs obviously
  2. I see the coin is now up to £195 , in the past I have sold similar coins for around a £10 note , bloody anoying when its not your coin thats going for a silly price isn't it ? LOL
  3. eBay item number: 282203635410 Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing. Anyone know why this coin has reached the dizzy hights of £175 please? Its still got three days to go as well The only reason would I think be if its a D over D , but I cannot see it from the scan
  4. obviously the mint is as full of numpties as the general population of the uk - no surprise there then
  5. I can never understand why whitman have never repeated their uk folders - its been years since they retailed at 25p in the mid to late sixties. I am sure there would be a new market now

  13. “Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.” ― Oscar Wilde tags: fashion
  14. This coin recieved a perfect storm to make it a collectors item. Zero publicity from the press , little interest from the public and the tv program that was the reason for its birth taking a massive dive in popularity. June price £20 July price £30 August price £35. WATCH THIS SPACE
  15. Yes september can be a great month for a week off and this week has proved it - if anything its been too hot. Try and get out see a few of the local historic sites as well , norfolk has a long and interesting history . While Mrs peter is not around anymore it does not do any good to just look to the past , I agree a dog can be great comfort and help in the grief process
  16. nope mine is awaiting the anouncement in the mail of its rareity I paid £5.99 for mine if I remember rightly
  17. Nice coin!
  18. coppied and pasted from the independant Can you spot the mistakes? About 210,000 ‘Pagoda’ 50p coins are in circulation in the UK,(WRONG!) with each typically being sold for around £30-50 on eBay. (can anyone tell me how 210,000 coins can be in circulation but also be for sale on ebay at the same time) The coins can be identified by the image on the ‘tails’ side of the iconic Kew Gardens Pagoda. But with almost 950 million regular 50p coins, they are going to be difficult to spot. (why?) In 2008, the Royal Mint launched a series of 20p coins missing the year they were issued. (not launched at all it was a simple mint mistake) Heralded as the “Holy Grail of change collecting”, buyers are willing to pay up to £100 each for them. BULLSHIT The rarest £2 coin is considered to be the Northern Ireland 2002 Commonwealth Games version. Issued 14 years ago, 485,000 were minted, with each (WRONG not all 485, 000 are on ebay right now!) on sale for around £20 on eBay. Assuming most are still in circulation (Wrong, they have had 13 years or so to dissapear into collectors collections), that is one for every 132 people in the UK. - bet you can - OMG who would want to be an ignorant journalist?
  19. Its worth £1200 accordinding to the daily mail
  20. A story in the mail today about loose change being worth a fortune , should keep dealers on their toes answering the phone 20 times a day to the vox populi for the next six months or so . Anybody want a peter rabbit 50p only a tenner?
