  3. WOT NO ROYALTIES @ DAILYMAIL>COM GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  4. I strongly suspect that the gunk on the coin has ment it's gone undetected over all these years , even the dealer missed it . It is in fact probably one of the great rarities of the bronze farthing series - its much rarer than the 1860 mule , and on a par with peck 530 - thats why it goes for silly money in any grade , I am sure only 50-100 exist and most are in well established collections .
  5. TYVM you lot I will hopefully put the coin on later - after treatment - like you lot said most anything you can do will improve the coin
  6. Virgin or extra virgin?
  7. will try the olive oil first - any surgestions on how long for?
  8. worse yes - this might take some time this cleaning project - any surgestions out there ? tried the usual acetone I imagine the sarcastic ones might be "spend more money on a decent coin " LOL
  9. It needs a clean sum heavy encrustation on there but well worth £3
  10. The detail may be great but not the actual history - cliffords tower was actually made of wood circa 1100 not stone as on the token there are reports that it burned down circa 1190 and was rebuilt in stone , therefore the picture on the token is a pure fabrication of the real thing
  11. that is a lovely coin scott - you will have to tell me where you get these bargains in manchester - somehow i suspect you aint tellin though
  12. U bought this quality halfpenny scott ? not like your usual buttons at all.
  13. yet another superb musician from the sixties - seventies dies so sad
  14. 1888 is a scarcer date farthing in that grade but 1886 is very common due to a high mintage and a hoard found a few years back
  15. there was a pile of bu***rap in the press the other day saying that along with the kew gardens 50p these coins are rare and worth £15 Dont belive the hype you should try a few coin dealers first to find out their worth , i will give you a clue its somewhere between 49p and 51p
  16. The 2000 penny coin is in fact more common with a billion minted
  17. darn it maths was never my fav subect By the way valueing this stash at £1.50 each is to say the least a bit overoptimistic , probably about one in 100 sell at that price so it might take many years and lots of effot to sell them all individually
  18. 5 X 240 is not as you have worked out 1000 but a larger sum 1200
  19. yes luv the massive ones for 2000+ coins , bet they would take some filling up
  20. that 1845 large date farthing in the sale looks yummy and will fetch well over estimate
  21. more that 1000 slabbed coins is enough for the uk at least IMHO
  22. Remember if they are hand made they have to be worked on by a human - there was no minemum wage in 1972 - there is now , also a lot of the costs savings made through mass manufactureing might not apply to these cabinets . Wood and other costs also might apply
