  1. Anyone finds a 1887 proff set including gold under a hedge _ ITS MINE!
  2. saw a nuthatch today in my own new back garden , there is also a jay that has started coming here for penuts as well sometimes its the little things that make you happy A man’s penis had to be put on ice after his wife chopped it off with a knife. Chief Detective Jason Wank said police did not yet know why Victoria Frabutt, 56, took tied her husband James, 61, up and severed his manhood. They were called to a house in Newport, North Carolina, at 4am yesterday. thumbnail for post ID 10766237Donald Trump says homeless people are ruining the 'prestige' of wealthy US cities They rushed Mr Frabutt to hospital along with his penis where it was hoped surgeons could reattach it. 3. well many parts of the coin markets have performed in different ways yes . I general early hammered have gone up well and performed well as have later hammered stuart tudor and stuart silver , even taking into account all the metal detecting finds there have been , admitedly most have been soaked up by museums. The mainstay of coin collecting has to be milled from 1662- 1787 and also the later machine made coins ie george III onward , this is what the heart of many coin collections is. Copper and silver has to the norm as well as gold has priced all but the most wealthy collectors out (A monarch run in sovs or halfs is while expensive is acheavable.
  4. It could have been used as an entry to a factory or mine chitty - these coins would have been easy available at minimal cost in the 1860 onward - they could have stood at the entrance to a factory -mine -etc and the person who initals were on it would take it when he started work . It would be easy to work out who exactly was there if an accident happened . All the coins have initials on them so even a very casual workforce would be easy everyone was given a coin after being inerviewed The coins would stand in a rack at the entrance to the works possably guarded by another person who would also enter them into a ledger for payment purposes .
  5. the 1973 hands coin had a much larger mintage
  6. brexit.html
  7. Did not newspapers offer exactly the same service as ebay in the hundred or so years b4 it existed. They offered to put buyers in touch with sellers for a fee and act as a go between while accepting no liability
  8. True , but the value of coins is also directly influenced but the number of collectors . In america the hobby is flurishing and in the uk coin collectors are looked on as a little weird / strange and its also not seen as in any way mainstream like the USA. Mind you we have the great advantage of no trump
  9. Well it has led to a rise in rare american coin values of 100 fold while british coins have doubled or trebled in the same period See world view page 30 in The "Coin collector" winter 2019 edition
  10. Strange thing is people have been warning about buying lower grade material for years but their warnings fell on deaf ears with only a finate amount of coins and a growing army of collectors .Even in the last few years lower grade stuff made fantastic prices on ebay as collectors increased their interest or rekindled their interest. Possably now the message has sunk in that its only the high grade stuff thats rare and most available coins are dross (Not nice to say really but probably true. The next few years migh show UK numismatics turning to the american model (ie more slabbed coins )
  11. Bet it will be dated 2020
  12. The little detail on brittanias head just lets the coin down slightly - but to be honest I would say it would be very hard to improve on🌞 The 1916 recessed ear penny about unc
  13. Most of ebay is just jammed up with rubbish which people are not interested in . They do however seem interested in great rarities and high grade victoria and before coins . It really seems that coin collectors really have woken up and smelled the coffee as far as the dross thats on there and it's just a haunt for overpriced rubbish really now . Every so ofter when a decent estate collection turns up there is lots of interest .
  14. Could be islamic?
  15. A year or two b4 the survey it was in the national press about the H and KN penny , judgeing on the presses power these days to practically cause circulating coinage to dissapear in an instant , I would expect that to be the reason
  16. Best tip arrive early , they can get very crowded
  17. Lovely token farthing from the edge of the northwest . Wanted one of these for ages just for the lovely design and now I have one

  18. Nice recent pickup A/unc after near 180 years
  19. Like the reverse obverse not very flattering though , but probably a reasonable likeness
  20. I must admit a quick luck at the anne farthings on ebay , with about 96% being fake but not described as such . The funny thing is if you are honest and list your contemp . copy as such you are punished by it fetching £70 instead of the £250 you would have got listing it as genuine. With all the fakes on there I would never consider buying off ebay , it has to be at a coin fair - I do hope to buy a couple one day. As the bay is now the home of chancers and charlatans it may never get its reputation back
  21. Does the word MODEL help?
