  13. "I know this is not the sales part of this and so am not selling anything but would add the following PS - Hussolo PM in the next week or so as I may have a GEF (AU) 1905 shilling possibly up for trade." Will do, thanks! Neat 6d holder Geordie!
  14. Hi Hussulo, MichaelGoulby appears to have found another obverse type for the 1903 shilling which he rates a very scarse. The reason I say appears to have found is that I have this one already and searching ebay have found others so I'm wondering if there are really 3 types. Have you come across this. Hi Gary, In actual fact I haven't got any 1903's. What is the difference in the obverse for this said variety? The only Edward VII Shillings I have got at the moment are, 1902, 1907 and 1902 proof. It is a side line collecting interest at the moment, which i hope to add to. I know some dates will be tough to find in higher grades.
  15. Nice coin Irishraider. I collect Edward VII Shillings which is a similar design.
  16. "As a new(ish) member I am always mindful not to abuse this forum with constant questions such as 'whats this coin?' etc." Never be scared to ask! There are a lot of members that are only to keen to help. Could it be a French jeton/coin perhapse?
  17. Thanks Dave. Many alarm bells ringing on that one!
  18. According to my books there is no known proof Crown for 1897. It only comes in business strike with LX or LXI on the edge. Maybe someone with more expertise on proofs like Rob can help?
  19. Great coins guys. Definitely candidates for if coins could talk imagine the history these coins could talk about. I can see the weight but how big are the silver bars scottishmoney?

Kleiner Or not ancient but looks interesting: Medals, Coins, Great Seals, and Other Works of Thomas Simon By George Vertue, Thomas Simon
  22. Hey Chris, Do you think this lady could be the guys sister? She says "I know from researching that this coin, in most cases ,it sells for about $2,000.00" LINK
  23. Wow I'd like to see it! I to have read about it but haven't seen pictures of one before. As for that guy what a joke. I know a lot of beginners automatically assume that their coin is the most expensive variety in the book but what an absolute ars*. Did make me laugh though!
  24. Welcome aboard Clive. If unsure I find the best way and most honest way to list my coins is to post detailed pictures of the coin and let the buyer decide. I also mention any scuffs, marks, or damage to a coin. Just a pointer to others new members, collectors reading not to join the rat race on eBay and list everything as Unc. However it is good to have another hammered fan (I'm also a fan of milled and errors ) on the forum. Regards, Hus
  25. Probably a commerative token. Did a quick search on the net but can't find anything about it.
