  1. i worked in a "hotel" when i was at school, doing the washing up of dishes and glasses. this was a hotel in an area of southampton where soliciting was legalised and the rooms were rented out by the hour. i saw some dodgy meat there i can tell you.

  4. i have a 1893 florin which is AU details and an 1889 d/florin AU details even with a 30 times glass its difficult to see the scratches, lovely coins in the hand. Chris had a double florin proof on his site...the ngc number indicated it was an "arabic 1", chris's photos showed it was a "roman 1". i wrote to chris and he confirmed the coin was a "roman 1" and that ngc had made a glaring error.

  19. absolutely true, however the spiel in this particular coins sale humoured me. it also ignores the fact that could be hundreds of coins better than the cgs best extant quoted. no i never forgot that...however my post for this slabbed coin was to highlight to divemaster that a coin in the series he is specifically interested in was coming up for auction, also he seems to like his crowns slabbed, so this item may have been of great interest to him. ive always had very good dealing s with semra....no problems there ski

  23. youre sure right Dave.......when i read that i thought ..so what. the same could be said for any coin with history/provenance ......why on earth should that be used to big up a lesser piece. the buyer wouldnt need to get it graded as......its already graded
  24. hey...divemaster.......as you like your crowns slabbed, you may like one or two in the forthcoming london coin auction. http://www.londoncoins.co.uk/?category=9.1&page=Catalogue&searchtype=3&viewrange=0 ski
