The CNUT if genuine is way better than just fine, there's a hell if a difference in grading gap between what your friend says and the card, i'd say minimum VF ir better

proving said coins grade without a TPGs slab could be fun though. seller, ts UNC, buyer of course it is. When it Comes to grading we use our own knowhow, everyone else has their own opinion and 9 times out of 10 it will differ. There are'nt many conservative sellers out there, everone is looking for a deal or a Dollar, so ask yourself the question, if you think it's cheap, then why is it cheap? And just as an aside, MS60 is'nt a British UNC either, so decide how good you actually Need a coin

Thanks Colin & Joey.Both the single coin on the database and the one pointed out by Joey have the halved rose and castle mark. The castle is very clear, being in higher relief to the rose sticking out of the left side and is of a consistent size when compared to others with the same degree of clarity. This must suggest a single punch was used for the mark. Compare that with my halved rose mark and you will see that my coin has a very blundered mark which is typical of filled and recut dies. The castle appears to have a rose shape superimposed on the coin, i.e. the castle was punched to a shallower depth compared to the rose. This would be expected if the die had been hardened previously. Surely on a forum where the number of penny collectors is on an industrial scale there must be someone with an example.
