  1. I definitely think the designer was making some sort of political statement with the design which obviously the numpties at the RM never picked up on. If this was the best design put forward, i'd hate to have seen the other contenders
  2. Apparently he is a student, but for a 20th Anniversary and 30th for gold it was really disappointing The designer https://csmbajewellery.wordpress.com/2017/08/01/student-louis-tamlyns-britannia-coin-launched-by-the-royal-mint/
  3. The design hasn't gone down to well, rays coming out of her arse etc.......Terrible IMO
  4. Not sure why he feels the need to over saturate every coin he lists, it makes them look more like a cartoon type picture
  5. Mr Blyth tends to overcook his images as he thinks everyone will bid on toned coins, all of his images are the same. Attached is the coin on the PCGS site
  6. Books don't cost thousands, but there is an age old adage around coin collecting, buy the book before the coin......Nice post though, for someone who seems to be doing lots of eBay business, you should maybe consider some books........P.s, there is a pinned thread for fakes, there's also a thread on eBay which generally flags up fakes also, you should maybe scour those threads before making another or else the good stuff gets buried away. Seuk is also a go to guy on fakes, he also has a website on the subject matter Just curious though, how do you know exactly that none of your eBay coins haven't been fakes, do you test them or are you an expert? You could have unwittingly passed more off than you actually realise. The other thing i took from your post was that you buy to sell to buy (making a "couple of quid profit") not sure but all that work and effort for a "couple of quid profit" wouldn't it be better spent, and your money, just buying the right coin straight off the bat for you collection?
  7. These spiked on the 1st and 2nd day after release but now you can't give them away, those greedy people who bought the first coin thought the 2nd would also be a winner but soon found out it wasn't the case
  8. Mintage would be taken from what the RM say and not what a 3rd party reseller states. The order of the beasts between the bullion and proof versions are out of sync due to royalmintbullion, the RM mint are the more numismatic side of coins and the bullion the bullion side. The royal mint wanted to mint the beasts in order of England, Scotland, Ireland and then Wales and the rest to follow however, the bullion side of it decided to do what they wanted and minted however they chose.
  9. No, it's not raised
  10. I doubt you'll get much response without some pictures of what you have. Have a lonely day on Facebook
  11. AU58 translates to only EF, only when you get to MS are you into the GEF region. One thing good about grading is that it's consistently inconsistent, but goldguinea (the seller) is a good customer of LCGS, so perhaps a little hand tickle was made
  12. The coin is question is the new 200th Anniversary "strike on the day"sovereig, so a week old coin with a large straight line going through it running from The B in ELIZABETH right through Queenies cheeks and looking for opinions on what it could be
  13. The 1838 has the same
  14. Maybe ignorant, but what does CNGAF mean?
  15. Funnily enough, those without humour cannot stomach my sarcasm, hey ho I like to call it dry humour these days instead of sarcasm
  16. beeeeetch, sarcastic as ever
  17. Thanks old bean, glad to see you back on site and sharing your experience. Hope all is well after everything..... Off to watch coldplay at the Munich Olympia station and it's pissing down, been sunny for the last few days, sods law
  18. I think @Nordle11 started it somewhere
  19. It won't be described as proof if its been polished (which it has been) now called impaired and UNC or less all due to the polishing, i'm guessing the person who had it didn't realise it was supposed to be matte
  20. You should look for good dealers on there and add them to your followed sellers, one above springs to mind, argentumandcoins, has a great feedback and extremely reliable. I think someone started a dealers list of those who are active on the forum and also deal in coins whether it be ebay or their own site and ebay. They may not always have what you want, but they are very reliable
  21. I think Oswald is making his presence known and over stepping the mark at the same time. Also, possibly spam
  22. Also real so try recent realised prices from auction houses such as London coins
  23. FFS, robbing bar stewards!!!!!!!
  24. A Little description of this website THE Newman Numismatic Portal (nnp.wustl.edu) is a new, powerful research tool for the numismatist. It is based at Washington University in St Louis, USA (WUSTL) and is funded by a 4-year, $US2M grant from the Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society (EPNNES). The all-seeing eye is emblematic of the Newman Numismatic Portal, the goal of which is to freely share a vast online store of both printed and virtual numismatic resources. Books, periodicals, ephemera, as well as online forums and auction offerings will be captured in one location, freely available, and searchable from anywhere in the world. With unprecedented knowledge at their disposal, collectors and researchers will gain greater appreciation for numismatic science and more clearly discern fact from fiction. https://nnp.wustl.edu
