You'd 1st of all need to prove both are one Nd the same person and prove that the coin came from him. If he has the same address then its down to eBay also to Show what other username he had and also prove the coin was in fact fake which would me having it authenticated/ or not as the Case would be. It could take a while and a bit of cash, but if you're prepared for the stress then go ahead,but only if you're sure its the same person. His username would be good for others here.

Oft you join the PCGS Europe collectors Club you can get 4 Coins slabbed free at the lowest entry Level or 8 coins for the highest entry Level. I posted a link to PCGS Europe on the previous page

So we have 5 so far Me, Peter, 1949, Paulus and Coinery...........1 more and we'll be there and the 1835 shilling is still avaliable

I'm still in, 6 people would be about right i'd say, 100 quid each, we'd have to pick the right coin though, agree with the silver, so need to keep the eyes open for something that could grade in the MS bracket 64-67 in our humble opinions. Maybe some of the dealers has something we could play with? What's wrong with the Cooke coin? Could be interesting to see how that grades and sells with Heritage? Regardless, I'm in for a share of the fun, if someone wants to take the reigns! I have to confess though that understanding how a grading company arrives at a particular number is tiring to me, and of little interest to the coins I'm playing with, but I'm sure I'd learn a 100 quid's worth from it ;-) The cooke one is perhaps to bright and shiny for the American TPGs, it might need some colour to push it along. Anyone got some spare petrol?

Sorry, tell a lie. It is MS67 after all ~ was looking at the wrong bit. The right one is here Extraordinary. And it's sitting at $625 thats 385 GBP crazy coin world I'd have said £300 absolute tops, and even that would be generous given its appearance!!! Clearly a business opportunity. Buy any unattractive big numbered slab at fair value and consign via Heritage. Could work wonders for the UK's balance of payments. On the question of the grade though, I still wonder how they get to MS67 with the obvious rim mark. The coin isn't heavy enough to have suffered the defect falling into the hopper. It has to be post Mint damage. I think the business opportunity comes from buying a raw coin, getting it slabbed by PCGS etc then shipping it over to heritage for a 4 fold increase in price. Everyone's a winner, i get 4x what i paid and an American gets a slabbed coin In the Spink 2013, back page, it gives you advice how to join PCGS Europe and have your coins graded/slabbed in Paris where their new office is. I may just do that and get some coins slabbed and shipped out to Heritage www.pcgseurope.com you have to join the collectors club to be able to submit the coins yourself any time of the year, you also get the first 8 coins slabbed free if you join the diamond club, 4 coins for the lowest entry level

That's the reality. If it's really been graded MS67, then something is not quite right IMO. Its basically a money making racket, when you have a monopoly and the sheep follow your every say so then the sheep will buy at the grade you tell them it is and believe your every word. In reality i'd rather have a raw coin and know in my own head what a coin is graded at. I think some of those TPGs are taking the piss in the US of A and i hope Mr Vicky Silver won't take offence or have a hissy fit, but that's not MS67 in anyones eyes, although his observation on this grade would definately be worth reading

My guess was MS62 and given that Heritage have an auction estimate of $1250-$1750, it is well off my radar too. Londoncoins sold an 1835 sixpence in UNC in September for 240 quid plus commission, just goes to show how much American auction houses are ripping for a little tone and i'd say Londons was a better grade, an NGC MS63 sold for 150 quid in 2011, so where does their price come from? http://www.londoncoi...age=Pastresults

I Note from 1949s post just above of the criteria for MS grading that they actually take into consideration COLOR? WHY? Wtf has colour got to do with strike/wear which is what grading is about......

With the detail remaining and with eBay being a funny old place i'm still going with my estimate. P.s, excuse the aye phone spelling, god knows what volder whatever was supposed to mean.
