  1. It was a fecking bloodbath
  2. Am done now anyway, nearly work time. Those commonwealths were a bit pricey to
  3. Unbelievable! The two I was most interested in went for more than 3x estimate! Estimate 5-600, my top bid £1k, hammer price in excess of £1500! Think I'm gonna start collecting Charles shillings, they seem to be about right...some nice coins going at reasonable prices! On the up-side, I know where my upgraded coins are going! I got 3 lots of Chas I, but its a tough auction
  4. Uh, more than one. It's the second this year, hence the reduced coin activity of late. I'm a bloke and thus can't multitask which is probably a good thing given the prices at Spink today. I was informed today during the course of the sale thatby working on the house I was in the right place, as attending the sale or bidding online would have been very depressing and/or impoverishing. £165K for the Mary ryal, £36K each for the R3 angel and Briot unite, £6K for the Harold 2 Chichester penny, £18K for the Alfred penny with legend around the bust. Big numbers for the special pieces, though the average bits were eminently affordable. Yikes My Spink is a couple of years old but the top price for ryal is £62.5k !!!! At those prices I would hide yourself down at Wickes.... I wonder what DNW is going to do today? Prices have been strong on the hammered, Elizabeth I sticks out as over top end on most. I've managed to get 3 lots but was bailing out early on
  5. Liz I coinage selling well
  6. What time is kick off?
  7. I'm gonna have one of these this time round! What's the date range? 1800-present i think
  8. Is this due out soon Chris, or how far off from Publishing?
  9. Lmfao, how did he get away with that last one brilliant
  10. He's got the grade about right though, wonder why the rest of it is ALL overgraded
  11. If you read his auction, he says in there: Any Claims that the item is not authentic Must be sent in writing in 14 days. Why write that in the 1st Place if he thought the coin was original? Looks like something else to watch out for He's also in Hong Kong
  12. like it
  13. Love it ? Esther Rantzen c. 1983? I remember when That's Life featured a photo of an antiques dealer's van - his name was Robin Bastard. I kid you not. I wonder if he changed his name to Hugh Janus
  14. Good god!!! Has he just sold that cos its ended? The description looks like he's using the mk.2 Ayephone (specific to Dundonians). Completely incomprehensible. One gap you could fill is "Charles II was ruled from 1660-1685 by Catherine of Braganza" He's the diametric opposite of Dave - his spelling is ok but what he says is incomprehensible! Thank you ladies Was just looking through the rest of his junk coins and was wondering what he means in his title description......Take a look and you'll see what i mean http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sixpence-George-III-1817-Silver-0-9250-VF-Tanned-/370695645263?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item564f2ea84f
  15. "Of course I won't laugh," said the Nurse to the patient, "I'm a professional. In over twenty years I've never laughed at a patient." "Okay then," said Bob, and he proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing the smallest adult male organ the Nurse had ever seen in her life. In length and width it was almost identical to a AAA battery. Unable to control herself, the Nurse tried to stop a giggle, but it just came out. And then she started laughing at the fact that she was laughing. Feeling very badly that she had laughed at the man's private part, she composed herself as well as she could. "I am so sorry," she said, "I don't know what came over me. On my honor as a Nurse and a lady, I promise that it won't happen again. Now, tell me, what seems to be the problem?" "It's swollen," Bob replied. . . She ran out of the room.
  16. Good god!!! Has he just sold that cos its ended?

  18. A Pontefract Siege Shilling is coming up for auction in January and SLABBED AU 50 by NGC http://stacksbowers.com/Blogs/world-coin-of-week-1648-siege-of.html
  19. I see. Thank you Azda, but let us still pose the question vis a vis BNTA membership and code of ethics. I don't know what their ethic codes are peterkin, you'd maybe have to ask a BNTA member but i don't think there is any on the Forum because all you need to apply is a VAT number apparently
  20. He's not a BNTA member, he's not Even a dealer, he is however a shill bidder (or was) of the highest order and Ripped people for a LOT of money
  21. No problem peterkin. I've seen pictures on here where the Details look incused instead of raised, its the eyes, someone explained it last time.
  22. CGS are in the slabbing Business Peter, they can only do what someone submits i suppose.
  23. Just to compare a dealers grade and a graded holder from PCGS grade, here are 2 coins. The 1st is PCGS graded MS 64 the 2nd is from a dealer which is still avaliable and was graded at GVF
  24. CGS are in the slabbing Business Peter, they can only do what someone submirs i suppose.
