  1. Heritage i find a little pricey. Bidding usually STARTS at spink book for grade. I have however spotted an 1850/46 shilling in a graded NGC holder at VF30, to me its less than VF
  2. Pity Chris never came onto the forum and let us know it was in the domain, i'd asked about the book 3 months ago without reply.
  3. Lol, "she claims they're worth £350" she knows a lot about Coins then
  4. RFG for REG and looks like the bottom colon after the G in REG looks to be missing
  5. No one buy blind from strangers in ebay but I thought the risk is significantly lower from an established auction house... Without pictures or being at the auction house itself, and as was stated by coinery above, the grading is a little generous, so as i said, why would anyone buy blind. Also if it's your first time buying from ANY auction house, then in theory said auction house is also a stranger, no? There's overgrading in a lot of auction houses, having the ability to grade yourself gives you the choice of where your bid goes, having nothing at all to go by is Russian Roulette of the highest order no matter which auction house it is.
  6. Perhaps a gaming token of some sort
  7. You would'nt buy blind on ebay, so why buy blind in another auction. A bit like Russian roulette if you ask me, you never know what you're going to get. Verd is copper disease, not silver, so i'd also go with the plastic reaction. It should make the slab buyers worried, especially the top end slab buyers of silver
  8. It was bloody cheap
  9. Also gets rid of a lot of expensive postage costs back and forth, notwithstanding the eradication of import/export issues! There would be no Import costs to PCGS in France. Is anyone actually Reading my posts correctly? PCGS have an office in Paris so there is no Tax duty to pay
  10. Geezus
  11. Its cheaper than doing it yourself then
  12. The so called small date numerals sold for $1300 and the RARE No Signature for $650, 17.5% to be added for commission
  13. There's also fakes of these Coins, hence one of the reasons for pictures
  14. Yes i meant NOT agressively cleamed. Also my crown is a halfcrown % of silver, i could'nt answer that question, its a possibility though.
  15. How rare is Rocking horse shit? Unfortunately without pictures of either it would be hard to tell
  16. ld agree with the investment Debbie, as long as the coin has been agressively cleaned. Why not also try what myself and Stuart are doing, buying up George VI coins or George V but in UNC only, 20-30 years down the line they should be worth a lot more than you've paid and they are relatively cheap right now other than cleaned/dipped coins. I had one coin that i dipped and came out pretty well, only because it had surface grime. Here's the before and after pictures
  17. I think thats his name Declan
  18. On the other end of the scale though Debbie, people are buying cleaned Coins knowing full well what they are and these are finding their way into collections at prices of uncleaned coins. I'd say it would depend on the coin and if high grade as people would take the gamble on them retoning in time. 1 ebay seller seems to clean/dip all of his silver and deacribes so and he seems to be getting good prices for them.
  19. Which customs problem? A guy on another forum had to pay customs to receive his coins back.Later I will try to find a link. Which part of PCGS in Paris, France is not in the EU where member states don't pay tax?
  20. Which customs problem?
  21. Helloooooo Ladies, were'nt we going to try something. It is insanity, and we wanna join, or have you all forgotten?
  22. A 1902 currency crown for over 3k? Madness in a slab? What grade?
