  1. Technically yes, but if you do a verification check on the coin it will come up as rejected, and the yellow label also highlights this fact. However it is something that needs a bit more prominence on the CGS website. On a separate issue a few coins I submitted are due to be collected tomorrow less than 30 days after they were submitted. That'll be why mine are taking so long then. Today is the 23rd day and its just gone to "finalising grade" that was after a phonecall as they'd been sitting at Level II grading for ever. So in theory My Coins should be with me next Friday, bets anyone?
  2. The total you mentioned Paul won't consist of Londoncoins 1000 or more lots for any auctions they have, this will be where the serious slowdown occurs and probably coins like mine will get shifted to the backburner until Londons have been done. This is where the conflict of interest and serious lag starts in my opinion
  3. Exactly My thoughts Stuart. By upping the turnaroumd time they are effectively covering the base where they seem to be struggling on the 30 day promise, but have now Shot themselves in the Foot by doing so and alienating at least 2 customers in myself and you. I can't imagime sending a coin off and not seeing it again for 3 months, and what happens if in that 3 months if they actually forget your coin or struggle with the 3 month turnaround, do they then up it to 6 months?
  4. I never thought to ask this question, and it's directed to Paulus. When you went to view CGS at work, how many coins were they assesing in a day? I'm asking because of 2 things, 1 is their new turnaround times from May for the 23.99 for 30-90 day turnaround (previously 30 day) I'm assuming this is because of comments from this forum and maybe other forums about their 30 day turnaround which by the looks of things NEVER happens, so upping the turnaround times to 30-90 days will cover their asses, but i think it will also piss off a majority of people who want their coins returned in a maximum of 30 days. The 2nd reason i ask is because my 2 coins have been sitting on level II grading for 10 days now, one from the 20th March and the other since 26th March, so in theory the 1st coin has 10 days left to get back to me, but they must finialise the grade and slab the coin. The last time a coin of mine was in the "finalise grade stage" it took 10 days and a phonecall to get past that stage, so i doubt i'll see my coins in the 30 day turnaround which is f*****g annoying considering you pay for a service and you're not quite getting that service.
  5. Glendinings sale on Wed October 30th 1974 sold one, lot 356 graded as "practically mint state" and sold for 1500 quid hammer
  6. So finally found out where i can go to find the protected areas of Bayern, i was most surprised to find out that where i live is a massive protected site, i assume it's because of the 1972 Olympics as i'm in the area of the Olympia Stadion and Village. The football pitch near the top of the picture is just behind my house and all the red/pinks areas are protected areas. The second picture is where i'm headed tomorrow, should take me a year or so to get through
  7. So basically what they're saying is that "we'll charge you more and take Even more time"? I thought personally £30 for 30 days was quite a while as it is, but now they want more cash and now will take more time? Well Sorry but unfortunately i'll be bailing out at this point because i can't Sit. And wait on an unspecified time. I still have 2 Coins there that i paid £30 each fo, 1 has been there since 20th March and the other since 26th March, i hope they won't be caught up in this BS because i paid for a 30 day turnaround and not a 3 month one. They'll be the last 2 i'll be sending i'm afraid, i could send Them to Paris and get them back quicker than CGS who are based in the UK
  8. I can see stops on this no stops variety lol
  9. An April fool perhaps would pay it
  10. A proof coin could be frosted, or can be mirror like. Normally proofs are mirror like, frosted are associated with rarer versions of a proof. I also think that a UNC 1986 2 pounds could probably be copper/nickel (not quite sure)l but the proof would be .925 or .999 silver
  11. Hi Adam, and welcome. We on the forum unfortunately don't have ESP, so if you could post a picture of said coin it would be more helpful than a description.
  12. Lit, Phillip and Mary, sounds like Rita, Sue and Bob to Oh and is'nt the Phillip and Mary groat just a Mary Groat?
  13. I normally save the images of coins i've won until they arrive home and been looked over.
  14. If it was plugged Stuart it would'nt get slabbed. Still not sure why it jumped straight from consigned to Level II grading though, time will tell.
  15. The Northumberland is only there because of the amount of fakes of those coins, as you well know Paul. The 1935 is there because i thought it was good enough for a Crack at top spot. A 1935 in Spink today graded at PF63 by PCGS sold for £850 hammer
  16. Thanks Richard. Even though i had no imterest in the auction i shall still email My displeasure at such a ridiculous Service for a compamy of their stature.
  17. 850 for a raised edge proof 1935 crown plus joose............... Well think i've had enough of that crap
  18. Nice one, it's better to know, now you can sell it
  19. I just bid on a proof, it said bid sent and then nothing...and then it sold to someone else again for less than I would have been willing to pay I think it's lagging Colin, so what you thought you bidded on had actually probably finished
  20. 1880 Florin in EF sold for 950 quid
  21. I'm hoping to take top slot Martin, but i can see a hairline on the REV
  22. Utter shite but i think the flaw is stemming from using the sound. I used it several times and it froze, am now just watching without sound and it seems to be going ok so far, but it's still shite. Oh and lot 859 for you farthing boys went at 700 quid. Just waiting on the 2 Northumberlands to arrive in a few moments lots 897 and 898
  23. Christ! Were they making these back then? In that case the Royal Mint was a few hundred years too late getting its own version to market - but then institutions are always reluctant to change. I hope Seuk is going to reappraise the dates of his forgeries. Well - at least it now seems possible for me to get rid of my ever increasing bag of unidentified washers ...like saxbys-coins selling cheap Hungarian coins etc. as British found Lol, his wording for an EF grade, and i did'nt realise this is what the E in EF actually meant (EF ( especially fine ) grade / specimen collectors gradeâ€)
  24. It's Pecks inbox thats full Paul
