  1. A picture of Mrs Peters will do
  2. For what its worth, i'd suggest to leave the Americans and their AT alone, it seems another Thorny like subjet to us Brits just like slab/no slab and grading issues we constantly discuss here. Its not worth beating your Head against a wall for and the raised blood Pressure levels. We know they AT tone their coins to make huge amounts on their coins and the British ones also, so let them bury their heads and laugh later when the balloon finally bursts
  3. Oh, JC, a reserve on it too!Couldn't resist posting some of the details, just in case anyone fancies buying it! A "rear" hammered [sounds fun for a virgin queen] queen elizabeth the first 1562 silver coin "with the sheild on other side" [well we'd better have that one then!] in good condition for its age the pictures ive put on are poor but the markings on both sides are easy to see and would look good in a "coin collectors collection" [indeed it would!]. Well if you think that one is good then have a wee snipe on this one Item number: 161131769461
  4. The nail as firmly Hit on the head when the reply came that people will pay a Premium for Rainbow toned coins. Its artificial toning and greed rolled up together. When people Discover how its done they then go out and tone anything they can her their hands on as was seen with a cent that was posted in Peters original tooic. Its the idiots with their heads so far up their a**e that i feel sorry for, they obviously don't have a brain cell between them.
  5. You're going to get that for your wifes Christmas are'nt you Peter. I can forsee a divorce
  6. So the guy in question who owned the coin has linked this thread to the one over there. So to him i'd ask the same question. Why is it that the ugly toning ONLY seems to happen when Americans have the coins? Why is it they are SO defensive when some people say the toning is artificial? Why is the slab number SO important, you collect a coin not a slab? I can pick up a few slabs, Throw a number on it and sell you it if it so pleases you. The other question i have is directed at another poster who commented that the slab number was low and he reckoned it should have been a point more, errrr can you or he explain how you differentiate between a +1 -1 point, what are those huge Tell Tale signs that the point should have been added or subtracted. Honestly, some of you American collectors are so f**** anal its unreal, i'd have hated to be the dog in the house that day when it came back 1 point under graded. Then other thing i'd also point out is that an expert in British coins gave you an appraisal of AU and you were'nt a happy collector, you people have a LOT of learning to do. Rant over, put your Blinker back on and the Crash helmets, sign up here and join a real debate about your artificially toned coin

    Good Evening

Nah, twas only England playing. On the other hand, Scotland hammered Croatia and i had a ball winding up my Croatian boss
  9. AT............ Its all about the money for the American collector, nothing to do with colleecting
  10. Did'nt realise if silver looks, well, like silver that its been dipped out. Now thats obviously an American fact. Peter if you go to the useful website thread and in there, there is a link to the chemical artificial toning of Morgan Dollars. Hit him with the link and Tell him we don't dip like the americans

  12. Whichever way you put it, Lloyd should be thankful he did stop for a beer or a pee, whichever it was. Its obvious who robbed him had followed him from the fair, given a different scenario and he had gone all the way home without stopping there could have been several other permutations, such as they could have robbed his home and/or it could have been a robbery with violence and he could have been seriously hurt given the fact they had no qualms about launching a brick through his window. They must be Professionals also to be able to disarm the alarm on the car and know what they are looking for.
  13. Same here Stuart, its always the same (null)
  14. CCGB 2013 has it at £200 in UNC The 2010 was £100 in UNC, just as a thought Stuart you mentioned you've sold 3 now, so it might be that they are more common than we are led to believe, and i think you still have another on your website
  15. I've sold three now in excess of £200, and a couple just under, I think they are more popular than people give them credit for! Here's the last one I sold!http://george-coins.co.uk/UNCAU-Edward-VII-LOW-TIDE-1902-Penny-P3139016.aspx Being honest Stuart £200+ is very good money as UNCs sell between £120 and £170 depending on the day, but £255 from Mr Blyth was with a helping Hand from his buddy
  16. So what do we think of the price 161118925656
  17. I think it is true Sword as the countermarks are always graded along with the coin
  18. Well you know how my pictures are Gary, my Camera is an olympus FE-320 8.0 megapixel and i never use Flash and always take outside in Natural light against a dark background. I've no complaints with my results what so ever, just use the Marco mode and you'll get good hi-res results. My camera is around 7 years old, dunno what i'd do if it ever goes pear shaped, but spending £1000 plus these days seems overkill with what the samller versions can also do, but good editing software should be on th shopping list to, something like photoshop.
  19. Sam is much easier than asumel lol
  20. Sorry Dave, I edited my post, I would only be interested in an English counter-marked one!Ahhhhh, now thats a different kettle of fish altogether
  21. Stick with me Paul, you'll go far and at 99 euros it was bang in my estimate which in English Play money is £84
  22. For a decent one with a Common mintmark, maybe £50-£100 depending on grade/age/region of South,America, rarer types will obviously cost more Realey? (see what I did there!) - I would have thought more like £250 in a strong Fine and up and up from there!Yup really. I just found a VF for 99 asumel, i'll PM you the link

  24. There is coin auctions all the time, take your time, have a browse. In the meantime if one Pops up in auction or online somewhere i'll certainly give you a heads up
  25. Yeh I have just googled 8 Reales and the first hit was a warning about fakes, may have to be a bit cautious and do a bit of research firstYou're maybe better waiting on a reputable coin auction and try getting one from there, there are a lot of fakes of these as they are a popular coin or from a Dealer on the forum or from the owner of the Site and forum.
