  1. CCGB 2013 has it at £200 in UNC The 2010 was £100 in UNC, just as a thought Stuart you mentioned you've sold 3 now, so it might be that they are more common than we are led to believe, and i think you still have another on your website
  2. I've sold three now in excess of £200, and a couple just under, I think they are more popular than people give them credit for! Here's the last one I sold!http://george-coins.co.uk/UNCAU-Edward-VII-LOW-TIDE-1902-Penny-P3139016.aspx Being honest Stuart £200+ is very good money as UNCs sell between £120 and £170 depending on the day, but £255 from Mr Blyth was with a helping Hand from his buddy
  3. So what do we think of the price 161118925656
  4. I think it is true Sword as the countermarks are always graded along with the coin
  5. Well you know how my pictures are Gary, my Camera is an olympus FE-320 8.0 megapixel and i never use Flash and always take outside in Natural light against a dark background. I've no complaints with my results what so ever, just use the Marco mode and you'll get good hi-res results. My camera is around 7 years old, dunno what i'd do if it ever goes pear shaped, but spending £1000 plus these days seems overkill with what the samller versions can also do, but good editing software should be on th shopping list to, something like photoshop.
  6. Sam is much easier than asumel lol
  7. Sorry Dave, I edited my post, I would only be interested in an English counter-marked one!Ahhhhh, now thats a different kettle of fish altogether
  8. Stick with me Paul, you'll go far and at 99 euros it was bang in my estimate which in English Play money is £84
  9. For a decent one with a Common mintmark, maybe £50-£100 depending on grade/age/region of South,America, rarer types will obviously cost more Realey? (see what I did there!) - I would have thought more like £250 in a strong Fine and up and up from there!Yup really. I just found a VF for 99 asumel, i'll PM you the link
  10. For a decent one with a Common mintmark, maybe £50-£100 depending on grade/age/region of South,America, rarer types will obviously cost more
  11. There is coin auctions all the time, take your time, have a browse. In the meantime if one Pops up in auction or online somewhere i'll certainly give you a heads up
  12. Yeh I have just googled 8 Reales and the first hit was a warning about fakes, may have to be a bit cautious and do a bit of research firstYou're maybe better waiting on a reputable coin auction and try getting one from there, there are a lot of fakes of these as they are a popular coin or from a Dealer on the forum or from the owner of the Site and forum.
  13. Problem is, if the Word spreads, which i'm sure it will, it may potentially have a knock on effect for stalls at coins fairs
  14. Oh ffs!!! Anything for a dollar
  15. Wow did'nt realise he was followed. I'm assuming he stopped for a Break somewhere and his Car robbed, is that correct? Still, a scary situation that someone is actually following you with the intention to rob. This has to be a rob to order job surely
  16. As Paul says. Pieces of 8 are/were Spanish 8 Reales, i like those, especially the Pillar ones (the Design of 2 Pillars) which ended about 1765-69 ish. Look them up, a nice coin to own but beware of forgeries
  17. A good example of something similar is Lord Stewartby's collection. Stolen from his house when he happened to have them there briefly for cataloguing and never seen again. The most important private collection of Scottish coins disappears either to be melted down or, more likely, to be in somebody else's collection. Yes and he was going to donate these to the Scottish Museum
  18. To be honest Derek, i COULD see that happening. Its a cut throat business and i'm sure a bit of jealousy can creep in amoung dealers
  19. I make the total value is £17,630 so I'm not sure where the £50k figure I was told came from... 17k is still a hefty amount in anyones eyes, plus its his job/stock
  20. I think maybe it was that the coins are below £1000 sale price. But yeah, I can believe £50,000 worth. I've noted 36 Charles I shillings alone amongst those lost. The worry is if they aren't found soon they will just be melted. I'm sure they must be insured. But the numismatic loss .. I only hope whoever has Stolen the coins knows that they have value and hopefully can be traced at some point. You have to wonder if Lloyd was maybe a known dealer to the thieves, if thats the case then i doubt they'd be melted
  21. There's certainly more than Neils £1000 estimate been stolen. The 1st 4 coins ran to £1400, so i'm assuming the value is much higher than whats on the BNTA Website
  22. Well i suppose you have to be thankful it was'nt 50k worth, i would have been crying for days at losing that sort of stock. Hope the police catch them soon.
  23. Agreed, the REVs of These were always poorly struck. Yours is a nice REV Paul, why are you selling that one?
  24. All we have is the seller's photo, so unless a forum member shelled out the $770 we'll never knowWe can always go back and check for Feedback in a few weeks to see if anyone knows the buyer
  25. Obverse isn't even EF, reverse is better though.Cleaned/dipped perhaps also
