  1. Well explained... I have the Freeman plate coin f-144 purchased from the man himself...
  2. Born in 1952 myself.... I misplaced my complete date BU roll set of that year.....
  3. Now that is an F-25.....
  4. Didn't see this response when I made prior post.... Question answered.....
  5. Thank you Bernie, you beat me to it.... It's a poor picture but my first thought was that it had some obverse 5 diagnostics.... As Bernie asked, does it have LCWYON under Victoria's bust?? A close-up of that area maybe ???
  6. What did it sell for???
  7. 1861 F-33 E to GAP (The only example on an F-33 I have found so far.... still have a few more to check...)
  8. 1861 F-20 HIGH last 1 in date - E in PENNY to GAP Specimen 1 Specimen 2
  9. 1861 F-20 LOW last 1 in date - E in PENNY to TOOTH
  10. I'll have check my examples of the f-20's when I get home next week, however at quick glance I see the 2 varieties as I referenced them. A high last 1 in the date and a low last 1 in the date. If all the low last 1's are to the gap and all the high last 1's are to the tooth then we have a very simple method of differentiating between them. Not sure if this is significant or true as I do not have the coins in front of me, but I should have at least 2 or 3 of each variety to check.... I can't speak on the f-28's as I only have the one in my collection, but if I can find images of the 2 that I sold in the past I'll try to compare them....
  11. It's the precursor to the Bronze Coinage.. it covers only pennies..
  12. The other obverse die does NOT have a doubled or re-engraved A......
  13. The BEST that I ever saw... RIP!!
  14. I limit myself to circulation strikes for budgetary reasons... I am on a fixed income and have to enforce some limits... As a general rule no proofs nor patterns, although I do have some that I did manage to obtain.. That being said, I am a completionist by nature and try to include the varieties when I can... I have been fortunate in acquiring many scarce and rare varieties although I know I cannot acquire everything.. If money were no object I would collect EVERYTHING, that being the completionist in me.. I know that there are several bronze pennies that I probably will never own, unless I find them unattributed somewhere.. the 1933, the 1952 & 1954, I have an F-192a but not the new variants, the rare 1953 varieties, the 1863 slender 3, die #'s 3 & 5, etc.... However, I keep on looking... hoping to at least possibly find an F-19 somewhere... It's as much the thrill of the chase/hunt as anything else.... discovering new varieties etc...
  15. I would never be content buying that coin as a proof. .....
  16. Hi Peter,

How nice are the open 3's...

How much for both if they're nicer than mine???

    Always good trading material....

    Thanks,

    Gary
