  1. Peter

    ID PLEASE

Either would i, their burgers Are crap I would prefer Burger king over Halfords for car maintenance.
  2. Nasty dig on the obverse. I would call it less than MS because it isn't.
  3. It really does inspire me. I do have a few beauties and want more.
  4. Save a fortune and buy raw. It really isn't difficult.
  5. Swoon Pete Quality
  6. A special thanks for recommending Smokerings - I have just placed my order Excellent The feedback for his cabinets looks superb.
  7. I would suggest overpriced and worth less now.
  8. It is not rare even in high grade. You have paid OTT retail.
  9. Chris (Predecimal) does a great reference book on notes. About 10 years ago I tried to put together a collection of £1 and 10/- notes. I got most of them including replacement notes back to pre world war 11. I started off when a good buddy(fine art auctioneer) gave me an unopened wage packet from 1940. Being a 60's lad I often had 10/- and £1 notes in my birthday cards although my grandads brother always put in £5. I'm no expert but enjoy the sideline (for my sadness I also have a collection of cheques)
  10. Pictures are the key to selling. It is also advice (not advise)
  11. Nick Thats ilife. A newby is best avoiding Ebay and get behind a decent dealer.A decent dealer knows my name and can enjoy a coffee/tea before we haggle.
  12. Don't be afraid we all learn from mistakes. I started with my wants list many years ago.Forget that and follow your instinct.Get talking to dealers. One dealer sees me and gives me 1st dibs on new purchases...The only thing bad is coin collectors stoop. I need a Radox soak when I get home.
  13. Yep Declan A true craftsman. My cabinet is for my farthings. My grandfather was a cabinet maker. A trade that was tempting.I ended up with an O level in metalwork.I can still put my hand to DIY. I've done a house and 2 bungalows in the last 5 years and enjoy the hands on approach. I'm a QS by trade but happily get down to laying laminate floor and wall tiling, boxing in pipes I've done this to shut Mrs Peters gripe that I didn't do DIY. Quite frankly when working flat out I prefer good craftsmen....it is all horses for courses.
  14. You have to delve into the trays. Those gems are there
  15. Hi I'm sure you know that mahogany is the main timber to choose (rosewood is also OK) Obviously Peter Nichols cabinets are the most famous in the UK. There are 2 Ebay sellers that hand build these. Smokerings (he has a nice one on Ebay now..read his feedback ) I bought mine from a seller Forestgreen....nice Avoid Oak MDF and the like. Smokerings one is £285 delivered and if I wanted another I think I would go with this. Good luck.
  16. Good job you found us! LOL
  17. You will fall into the upgrading trap.
  18. Another reasonable coin. Set your sights higher...go for the best.
  19. There is a guy in the US. I've forgotten his name but I'm sure he repaired a forum members holed 1905 1/-. Personally I avoid impaired coins.
  20. Please do an Ebay search it is pennies rather than £
  21. My favourite holiday ever is Crete. Fantastic people.history.beaches.food....talk about chilling out. I just hope they can recover.
