  1. Good on you Danelaw.Has it been recorded? This might shake a couple more out with a bit in Coin news.
  2. Peter

    any ideas?

I'm glad Paulus has put you straight.1887 was a Jubilee year hence many hi grade silver coins exist (stashed). The coin hasn't seen much (if any circulation) but has many knocks.Anything up to £20 would be OK (ish).

    any ideas?

Less than F this one although a key date.Plenty about like this for a couple of £. The trouble with this one is that it was mentioned as a key date in the 60's hence thousands were stashed away.
  4. Nice coin Danelaw. You are a lucky mudlarker.

    any ideas?

An unbeaten up F from me. Welcome Chapps
  6. Nons....Looking back how this thread started I can't see how you've upped your game!!!! Lovely Bronze Sovereign
  7. Great buy ....nicer than the one I was looking at.
  8. Yes... if from Trowbridge? If so a good seller. It wasn't a MUST upgrade for me.
  9. Paul Nice...was it an ebay BIN purchase?
  10. Don't worry Dave low grade stuff is rarely copied.
  11. What is to guarantee your £499 doesn't disappear into the ether. LCA will surely suffer because of this farce.
  12. Isn't it tricky to ID berries on 1/4d's less than EF?
  13. Coins value.......Made up value? Price paid? Retail value (pricing book)? Price a dealer will give you? Average auction price plus juice? There are too many variables. Is this the death of UK TPG's?
  14. GCSE grade B....up there but not the Dog Bo*****'s
  15. There are the clever fraudsters who still get found out,the shillers who fail to cover their tracks, idiots who need a slap. A few years back a so called decent ebay dealer supplying high quality coins went AWOL with £000,000's of buyers money. The more rotten fruit that can be found within the coin community and outed the better.
  16. The Ebay seller is obviously not the full shilling. That is no defence regardless of any circumstance.
  17. This is so sad it is actually quite funny. Paid £75 plus juice for the coin described/graded fairly as EF... Not a bad purchase (CCGB value £90). There are faults with the coin so not truly for our 1d connoisseurs amongst us. Then to overgrade, give it spin with an awful grasp of English, ask £1000 on Ebay and we have a nomination for shyster of the year. Can we all offer sub £75 ? Well spotted Dave, great to see you back.
  18. hash seems to be the problem here
  19. I just love these rare beauties. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1967-One-Penny-Coin-Queen-Elizabeth-II-/162067492631?hash=item25bbf9af17:g:3I8AAOSw1KxXM1aV Wow this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Extremely-Rare-Coin-1967-1p-British-coin-Big-Size-Coin-Penny-Coin-/152086620125?hash=item236911a7dd:g:gJcAAOSwl-FXMphe
  20. Anyone with 2,000 coins has obviously been through them. His name wasn't Scott perchance.
  21. Can't see how the 1d is worth anything apart from nearly oz of cu.The 2d isn't too bad and I'm sure would get £20 on ebay.
  22. I bought a job lot of them a few years back with a view to selling on ebay, but they are now in every drawer in the house so always at hand. They are easy to chuck in your pocket...you never know when you might need one. The capsuals I ordered are also VERY SIMILAR They come in a zip seal bag rather than the trademarked cardboard containers.
  23. Chris Just ordered your Irish coin book from Amazon. It would be useful to have all your books as a banner on the forum. I often direct people to your books (I'm a nice chap). There are a lot of Irish Americans out there.
  24. The F77 maybe upgraded but it would still be a keeper. IMO Nice coin.
  25. I use these...I bought a few and they do arrive. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Foldable-30X-21mm-LED-Fold-Eye-Jewelry-Loupe-Magnifier-Microscope-Glass-Lens-UR-/161836353546?hash=item25ae32c80a:g:LlsAAOSw37tWA6qN They are not dissimilar to these...which I didn't buy http://www.lighthouse.us/epages/lighthouse.sf/en_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/leuchtturm_us/Products/LU30LED
