  1. That is 2400 coins. However they just don't sell. The copper scrap value is probably £100 ish. Good luck in shifting them...you will need it.
  2. GF+ but not NVF....Don't you love Ebay grading. His fine must be a tap washer.
  3. This isn't an Ebay laugh However any specialised shilling collector should know his subject. It would be an idea to contact the seller or even give him a link to the forum.
  4. Over 1000 buys/sells and only 1 problem (a fantastic Liz 1 penny in EF...bah) 0.01% failure isn't bad.
  5. I'm afraid I do not find Holly Willoughby at all attractive. My type's are Holly Fowden (Kitchens direct advert) Patsy Kensit Kelly Brooke etc
  6. As Mr Darke only found 9 coins the 1st day and obviously wanted to enlist help.I feel he should be willing to split the reward 50/50 unless he suggested some kind of "prenup". This gives detectorists a bad image.....however the press are feeding off Mr Darke's appearance. With large lumps of money at stake who knows how people will react. As aside would you tuck away a couple for your own collection?
  7. To be honest I and the majority of collectors wouldn't know a 164a if it tapped me on the shoulder. There are probably thousands out there lurking in jars (or my loft). Making an effort with my Freeman and pennies looks like another job.
  8. I did like the 1860 1/4d mule...the early copper was ummm
  9. Declan Didn't those bags come free with "nubile and goat fancier monthly" ?
  10. Hi Danny Before you buy any more coins buy some books. Collectors coins GB (from this site) Grading British coins (from this site) Spink 2011 All are on Amazon. There are many more good books which you will grow into. You will need to become a collector 1st to learn the subject. Welcome to the forum.
  11. There are plenty of coins I have missed out on or the dealer has sold them.....even walking around a coin fair. Overall things balance out. I suppose ebay can be the most frustrating. Mr Cooke was selling CNUT pennies for £60 a few years ago I did buy a few bits of gold. 1758 shillings and 1746 LIMA halfcrowns make silly money. 1960 crowns 1950 & 51 1ds and 1946 and 49 3d's seem to be todays turkeys.
  12. There are plenty more shillings out there. If you regret a purchase then you should'nt have bought it.
  13. Although Ebay is in my living room I still like to hunt out nice pieces. A trip to the Midland fair always exites me despite having coin collectors back after stooping over the trays. I also have my favoured dealers. Try a sneekie bid on the shilling. I've stopped collecting dates (apart from farthings)and now want to shift anything which doesn't cut the mustard. Trouble is my requirements are wallet trembling now. If I sell all my pre 47 silver I may just have the funds for some early hammered silver. Or if I can shift some money from the kids piggy bank
  14. That is so problem free I raise my cup of tea. However I would not spot an open 1903 in years. Pennies is for loo's
  15. semale the corfee Mr Goodheart. I'm going to the local shop for a nice claret....plus the mail
  16. Hi Don't buy and sell on the same ID. I've been raped on Ebay but also made silly money for crap. I will put about 15 coins at a time .99p start and enjoy.
  17. You mean he uses hs where he should be using ns. You mean you don't understand simple Englisn, Rob?
  18. I have Davies but never seen David's work. The real deal is getting varieties into a popular price guide.(well done Peckchris) Coin monthly picked up loads of varieties for 20C farthings ie 1914,15 but Spink still ignore these....hence there are a handfull of us mugs chasing them around when "Joe dealer" hasn't a clue and no premium is realised....apart from us boys in the know.
  19. Predecimal? Real coins are before 1901 To a tooth or a gap Hmmmm.
  20. John He is on loan on a pay for play basis....guess what he is injured. He actually scored when he had a broken leg before we popped him up to you for £6m. It was that Robson chap who also collared Titus. Those two only fired on 3 cylinders...shame really.
  21. and 4 coin forums and another 2 Ipswich forums. Must be my punishment for all the wrong doings in a previous life.
  22. Is that a Whooooosh or is Peck double bluffing?
  23. He is actually a member on an Ipswich Town forum, I saw this a few weeks back There is another good spoof on a Paul Ross canvas on amazon...there are a lot of people including myself who have far too much free time.
  24. If we're not careful we're going to end up on the subject of Madeline Smith again... That is a subject I wouldn't mind getting onto although Patsy Kensit or Kelly Brooke would suffice my old bones (I reached a milestone birthday on Monday ) They can get in a queue but there might be a bit of a wait on the third time round.
  25. 7 bidders, really what is that all about? Would you want to pay £350 for a cleaned exbroach?
