It's not difficult really, I send stuff in every now and then. Just a form to be filled in and then sent with the coin to the appropriate place. You need to be a paying member to submit on your own, or do it via a third party. Once you've done, it'll be easy. I'm lucky in that I call into the London office and leave everything there. Turnaround is always in working day, so 2 to 3 months in general.

All NGC graded PF70 UC. Some extremely high end pieces in that auction. Likely as not beyond the reach of most of us. One bit of provenance particularly interested me, that one of the coins was wrapped in a piece of newspaper from 1705 or something of that era. Amazing to think.

I've just had the St James Argentum catalogue through, and noticed that their buyers premium is now 24% + VAT, same as Noonans. Not sure if this has just happened or if they've had it a while, but I certainly didn't pay that when I last bought from them. It's only 5% odd extra, but it's all getting a bit expensive now. They know they're shooting fish in a barrel, but how long before the fish get canny?

And that one is an absolute stunner. Ir was CGS graded and I believe it was regraded by NGC as MS64. Looked far better to me.

Guy Fonquernie and Richard Regnier both run it. Guy has some unbelievable pieces in his collection and is a penny collecting man. Richard does the silver side of things. They haven't updated any stock on their website for at least a year, so probably concentrating on auctions now.

The drawing looks more like Mary, Queen of Scots to me.
