  1. Seeing as I cant post in the items for sale because of the Forbidden Error thing, the cabinet pictured in my 6th September 2023 post is now going for sale. Spec below: Mascle 14 tray 4 x 28mm 5 x 35mm 4 x 41mm 1 x 50mm Green felts Looking for £300 plus delivery. I'll use parcel force or similar. Just checking to see if anyone's interested before I decide whether to punt on ebay or auction. Please DM if interested. Kip.
  2. I gave them a call last week to say it looked wrong, but there was noone in the department to talk to so I just left a message. Obviously nothing been done on it, so caveat emptor I suppose.
  3. Does this one look wrong to you? https://auctions.thecoincabinet.com/lots/view/4-HPLZOJ/1775-copper-halfpenny
  4. Forbidden error when trying to post in items for sale
  5. Sorry, images I saved were too big
  6. Afternoon all, Got this 1857 penny CP1857C no serif on 7 with a plain trident to go if anyone's interested. Graded MS62 BN. Lot of reflection in the images, but a nice coin. £175 delivered SD or will bung it on the ebay. Cheers.
  7. Perhaps even more so in today's money
  8. Exactly that. It would cost me over £5k a year in train fares, and I only live about 20 minutes from St Pancras on a fast train. Perhaps it's a low offer to try and entice a young, enthusiastic person with a genuine interest in coins that would be excited about the job enough to stay for that kind of money, rather than someone who just wanted the money.
  9. Morning all, On my last visit to Baldwins I heard that they were taking on a new junior numismatist. Not that I was looking for a job, but out of interest I had a nose around. It looks like minimum wage. Seems a bit low ball to me, certainly in London and expecting someone to commute. https://uk.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=cc69737a76dc731f&advn=5519585465138175&adid=447541345&ad=-6NYlbfkN0DkJMkHoMQrocPKu2SidVJosSscciceVH3ZJ3pSjDhZfZ5O7BLF3dEGfUgf2bI6LYbY_nw_PTsL1I13yB9kPo_ICxtNUJQo6gAEFzGlMD32hdSwYBky8hvPtFgGsmVVOdHARlnkwbf4lLtiB-4KDtcxytsJ4B_SZMJlFYBZEKE-D1TC52r-FV1R6LK0w4-qHM8hAdoUhzHcPbMMgEI2QS-rkZKvArfbe6a8s6ZZVgC9REUNhzKyVhzMKXCof-k08dQh7whtP_QigSiyYNVHppVWUG1r_oRLNOyuJ1bKYMTmSYEMBZNvf_AYACYfT5OxJkL3A9WcotqFSPfvmeBCw_4ySYhvPUAc_kRVhGLDid4j5IF2jvRmEUKFeTdVl_mjciOL-TN5Dl9jRsKbX2g0q4119SDb3pp0JoASHs_JpBBMmopYzff7Tsgpwe-5jxXKJkLWx3vtL9H3T0t8pSThI_VqqBm2qGMoLkkoux2ZHlTEMOlbt28vRyyEHGkca5GiRYvMVxSX95bPWXhieOQ7txHtsZZrbulDKY0yVFnhSxlmAeKAQjnrOtkhX2KyOYnXRcvIqY5xNFIEIA%3D%3D&from=mobRdr&dest=http%3A%2F%2Fuk.indeed.com%2Fjob%2Fjunior-numismatist-cc69737a76dc731f&desth=67bf6459f7049c0f23e5d06a0d20d39d&prevUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fuk.indeed.com%2Fm%2Fjobs%3Fq%3Dnumismatics%26l%3D%26from%3DsearchOnHP%26sameQ%3D1%26sameL%3D1&tk=1iurmkl1miogj808&dupclk=1&acatk=1iurmkphlkk3m801&mclk=default&pub=6917c08ec3ecf6012dd26f3773156e870cace3277f6b99df&camk=ethIe0s0hedv0sFhikL48A%3D%3D&xkcb=SoCu6_M3wbldf3WtEp0LbzkdCdPP&xpse=SoAw6_I3wblc6v29gZ0IbzkdCdPP&xfps=37507816-e192-467d-a20e-225e815ae62b&utm_source=%2Fm%2F&utm_medium=redir&utm_campaign=dt

  12. For all you coinnoiseurs out there: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/356367819927?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D284622%26meid%3D42e5c0f9aad54a5a8bf9da561cea2695%26pid%3D101952%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26mehot%3Dnone%26itm%3D356367819927%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4375194%26algv%3DWatchlistWithPCatSup_BP%26brand%3DUnbranded&_trksid=p4375194.c101952.m162921&_trkparms=parentrq%3Aaf322aac1960aa7169b0ad80fffff404|pageci%3Aab2d1f8f-2bed-11f0-98ac-7ed4fcfcb2b9|iid%3A1|vlpname%3Avlp_homepage
  13. Yuletide felicitations to everyone. I hope 2025 is a happier and healthier year for all, and that we all manage to find a little unnoticed gem tucked away in an auction catalogue somewhere.
  14. It was probably unsold. If you want it, likely as not available at the low estimate if you email them.
  15. I think his prices are here: https://robdaviscabinets.co.uk/prices.html
  16. I think Atlas picked up a number of his coins in the last auction and haven't been able to move them on at the mark up they were trying to get. Back to auction they go.
  17. I had exactly the same reply. I should imagine there'll be a few of these being sent out.
  18. I messaged the coin cabinet when I saw it, but as yet had no reply either. I'm sure I had an email from them a while back detailing some business changes, but can't find it now. Perhaps there's new staff etc.
  19. Britannia's face looks like she's been stung by a wasp.
  20. Morning, Seeing as 1899 pennies are in this thread, could someone confirm if I have Gouby BP1899Ac here please as I don't have the book? Many thanks.
  21. Morning, I saw this yesterday and wondered what your thoughts on it are. I don't know much about these George III coins at all with so many patterns etc, but there's so much here that looks wrong to me that I wanted to see what you thought? https://auctions.thecoincabinet.com/lots/view/4-F9I0ID/1797-copper-twopence-restrike-about-as-struck
  22. Afternoon, If anyone can get their hands on either Bramah or Gouby for me, I'd be interested. Thanks.
  23. It's going at NAC
  24. Taking place the 2nd or 3rd December I believe.
