  3. I would say it is around EF. (The coin looks dull but that could be due to photograph). If there is some lustre on the surfaces, perhaps worth about £35 or £40.

  4. Victoria 2nd portrait Jubilee Head Mintage 1 233 378 Engraver: Joseph Edgar Boehm it looks in a nice condition, with minor dings..... I'm really not the best to offer a valuation or what the grade is.......as I've been asking the same my self lately, take a look on E-bay and see what's listed and how much they go for is a fair guide 👍

  5. Most coins at this time circulated at their melt value along with any remaining copper/ bronze left over from when the romans left . They probably circulated till melted down for other uses about the year 700 or so or untill decent quality silver pennies appeared

  7. I've bought silver that was so shiny that some dealers avoided it like the plague. However, I have a nearly infallible way to tell : if the shine is in the fields and between the legend, but not on the design or legend, then I judge it’s natural; it would be virtually impossible to clean only the parts that exclude all the raised elements. As to how they survive in that condition, I wouldn't like to speculate.

  9. Yes, a Barbarous radiate is not a fake in the usual sense of the word. It would have been made 4th or 5th century after the Roman Empire in Europe had collapsed to provide coinage for the remaining residents. I looked at your other coin but I was not able to offer any real insight.
