  1. Quite pleased with this one as an upgrade. I am now happy that I have all the 20th century pennies that are achievable in an acceptable grade for me. (Which means I can focus more on all the other upgrades I need to achieve!)

  2. At least we can't lose to the Germans on penalties, although I've no doubt we will manage to lose to somebody else.

  3. The fire is about 3 miles north of Glossop. Good news, the wind has shifted round a bit to the north. Now we have clear skies and the large cloud of crap can be seen heading towards the posher areas of south Manchester.

  5. It is the same handwriting both sides and is a Boyd ticket. The GHG signifies that the coins came from Boyd's maternal uncle, George Henry Gaviller and were probably inherited on his death in 1880. Further reading can be had in the extensive foreword to the Boyd catalogue. The price code is made from a mixture of archaic Greek and Runes. This presumably was Boyd assigning a value to his coins.

  6. Here are two I picked up at Sovereign rarities today. Two nice little Charles I pennies in surprisingly good striking nick
