  2. Matt I was born in Bury and still only live 8 miles away. It is my home town. I love BSE coins. You have a fantastic coin. If you can tick all the boxes your coins will be great.

  3. I echo the thoughts that it isn't an open 3 - the top is far too curved. If the bottom proves to be open, we have a new kind of 3 !!

  5. Matteo I think you have a lot to bring to this forum, don't worry about English being your (presumably) 2nd language! Peter can be very cryptic, but in this case 'ticks all the boxes' is a common English phrase. It means that all the criteria you are looking for in a coin are met (boxes ticked). e.g. grade, eye appeal, balance, mm, mint, moneyer, rarity, price, etc, etc

  6. The half farthing is the same coin in both pics; did the seller describe it as E over N? If he did, and its not, ask for your money back! Jerry

  8. This got me thinking, I don't ever recall hearing of a fake or fasimile 1954. A quick search on Ebay, finds sites who will sell me a:- gothic 1847, jubillee 1887, 1937 Ed VIII, or 1952 1933 or a museum quality facsimile of an 1862 penny! but no 1954, so I widened my search to international sellers and found this extraordinary fabrication 24 sold but there are 5 left if you bid now

  9. This is a reply I received from a Freedom of Information Act request made in 2011. One of the questions concerned the 1954 penny:- Thought it may be of possible interest.
