cobey321 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Hi guys ive came across a 10p coin that looks like a 5p coin, does anyone know the value of this? Quote
cobey321 Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 lol very funny, seriously though, its shaped like a 5p but says 10p on it, does it have any additional value? Quote
Paulus Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Shaped? Aren't they both round? Do you mean it is smaller than normal? What's the diameter? Quote
Nordle11 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 10pHahaha lol very funny, seriously though, its shaped like a 5p but says 10p on it, does it have any additional value?Hahaha Sounds like a 5p blank got mixed up with the 10ps and was struck as such. You're probably looking at £5-10. Quote

Rob Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Without a picture it could be anything. A 10p filed down to 5p size, a 10p struck on the wrong blank, toy money. What does it weigh? What metal is it struck in? Lots of unanswerable questions without a picture. Quote

While I agree that I personally wouldn't pay £5-10 for this type of error, you'd still struggle to find a similar example for less.. Quote

Danz Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I like errors on UK decimal. Just got a 50p blank (both sides) with letter from the Royal Mint confirming it to be genuine. . But without pics could advise on the 10p/5p. Quote

VickySilver Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Well, minor clips don't get a lot of "play", but OMS (off metal strikes) and wrong planchets seem to do a bit better....As above, need to see the coin if possible. Quote
